Welcome.

This meditation is an exploration of yourself in darkness.

Close your eyes and bring awareness to breath.

Slow it down.

As the breath gets longer it also gets deeper.

Imagine yourself surrounded by darkness.

No stars,

No colors,

Just darkness.

You are floating.

Picture your brain.

Now see the line that goes down the middle of it creating the right brain and the left brain.

Focus on the right side.

Let it turn on like a light bulb.

Very bright.

And then let it quickly dim all the way down and off.

The left side of the brain brightens up like a firefly and then dims down and off.

Both eyeballs ignite with white light and then completely off.

The tongue fully shines back to off.

The heart brightens and then off.

The lungs permeate light and warmth and then come back down to nothing.

The belly light turns on and off.

The large intestines,

The small intestine,

Off.

Let the veins light up with electricity shooting through the body and then the fuse cuts off.

You are in stillness,

In darkness.

Just be here for a moment.

Be a part of the darkness,

The vast emptiness.

Begin to outline your silhouette.

A black sharpie traces around your entire form.

Your fingers,

The armpits,

The knees,

The shoulders,

The whole self.

Focus on one word.

Safe.

All you can hear or think.

Safe.

From the top of the head let it trickle down and around the outline of the body like a gold coating encasing your whole body in safety.

It trickles down the shoulders,

The outline of the arms.

It trickles down the back,

The hips,

The thighs,

Watching it as it fully encapsulates you.

Safe.

Focus on one word.

Trust.

Like tunnel vision,

All you can see,

Hear,

Or think about.

Trust.

From the belly it spreads and fills in the entire silhouette with warmth.

From head to toe,

From hip to hip,

And everywhere in between,

The warm trust fills.

It expands into the entire outline of the body.

You are in the darkness,

Alone,

Yet surrounded by safety and full of trust.

Focus on one word.

Self.

Nothing exists but self.

From your heart let a tiny white light seep through the darkness and beam out of your heart.

It beams out the back of the heart,

The front of the heart,

Each ventricle with ease and freedom of self.

In this darkness there is no judgment.

There is nothing to hide from and nowhere to hide.

Just let the light from inside shine.

Trust that you are safe to be yourself.

You are coated in safety,

Filled with trust,

And shining out your truth.

When things are dark,

You are still light.

This light is yours.

Trust that it can light up paths for you.

Trust that you are safe following this light.

Enjoy another moment with just yourself in the dark,

Beautiful vastness of space.

Slowly find some movement in the fingers and toes,

Feeling the ground beneath you and the air around you.

Know that when you open your eyes,

Your light in this space is just as bright as it was in the darkness.

Thank you.
