I will be leading this meditation as if you're seated on the ground with your legs crossed.
You can be in any other position,
Just simply modify the cues to what you need.
Lengthen through the spine,
Let the shoulders release down,
Let the tension fall out of the forehead and the brows.
Become aware of the air touching your skin.
Notice it between the fingers.
Be aware of it between the toes.
Behind the ears.
And as it moves through the nose.
And now notice your breath.
Become aware of the quality.
Is it slow or fast?
Is it smooth or rigid?
Just notice.
This is my breath right now.
This is my inhale.
This is my exhale.
And let the thighs soften and the glutes soften and the belly soften.
Settling into your seat.
Trusting the earth below you.
And with that trust,
Let's ground.
Intention is more important than visualization.
So whether or not you visualize it or not,
That's okay.
Intend to ground.
Opening a grounding cord or roots or an anchor,
Whatever works for you to move from the base of your torso down into the earth.
With every exhale,
Let it get deeper.
Let it push further through the dirt.
Down into the rocks.
Pressing deeper and further with every exhale.
Letting the roots or the cord slither and sneak and press through the earth,
Working its way towards the core,
The center of the earth.
And let it arrive and then wrap the cord or the roots three times around the earth.
Secure,
Supported.
And from your roots,
You're going to gather grounding energy from the earth and with intention,
Exhale and pull them all the way up through the roots,
Up into the body,
Up the center line of the body,
All the way up to the very top of the head.
And as you exhale,
Release it all the way back down.
Gathering more grounding energy,
Inhaling,
Pulling it up through the roots,
Up the center line of the body to the top of the head and exhale,
Release.
Gathering the energy,
The grounding energy,
Inhaling,
Pulling it all the way up and exhale,
Release.
And now just sit with it,
Don't do any work,
Just be.
Let that grounding energy take up space in the body and then imagine it settling down like sand in a jar when you tap it,
It starts to settle down like a shaken up snow globe where the pieces of snow start to drift lower.
Let all that space of grounding start to settle down and fill you all the way up from the feet up to the heart.
Long grounding energy,
80% of the body.
We're going to balance that now with cosmic energy,
With the intuitive,
With the passion,
With the sense of all knowing and bring awareness to the top of the head.
In like a funnel,
Inhale the cosmic energy from above into the head,
Down into the heart space.
And as you exhale,
Let it start to swirl around with the grounding energy.
Again,
Inhaling more of that cosmic energy and as you exhale,
Let it start to swim into the grounding energy.
One more pulling it in through the top of the head and exhale.
Now letting the grounding energy and the cosmic energy start to move into each other.
Let them expand and come into each other's spaces.
From the center line of the body,
We're going to balance the yin and the yang.
From the center line to the right is the yang and the center line to the left is the yin.
Bring awareness to the right side of the body,
The sun,
The masculine,
The diligent.
And as you inhale,
Bring power to that side.
And as you exhale,
Let it settle.
And then bring awareness to the left side of the body,
To the feminine,
To the moon,
To the soft,
To the compassionate.
Inhaling and bringing power to the left side of the body.
And watch them press towards the center line of the body.
Letting them move into each other's spaces.
Knowing that each other makes the other stronger and better.
And now come to the breath,
To the inhale,
And to the exhale.
Allowing them each to be just as important as the other.
Balancing the breath.
Allowing each inhale to be sweeter because of the exhale.
Let each exhale be more fulfilling because of the inhale.
Feeling grounded and balanced from below and above,
From the right to the left,
And from the inhale to the exhale.
See how it feels to be at peace in the middle of all of those things.
Grounding and balancing.
Namaste.
