So let's talk about acceptance.
Sometimes life doesn't unfold the way we expect.
And so we resist,
We struggle,
We wish things were different.
But in that resistance we create tension,
Physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally.
But acceptance doesn't mean that we have to like or agree with everything that happens.
It simply means that we stop fighting reality.
And we take the space in this moment to figure out how to move forward with how things are,
Rather than how we want them to be.
So let's try that.
Take a deep breath in.
And just let it go.
And what if,
Just for this moment,
You allowed everything to be as it is.
No pushing,
No pulling,
Just being.
Notice how your body feels when you soften into the present instead of bracing against it.
Acceptance isn't giving up.
No,
It's making space for what is.
So that we can respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger or uncertainty.
You're just breathing in openness.
And you're breathing out any resistance.
Rachel Marie Martin reminds us that sometimes we need to let go of the picture of what we thought life would be.
And learn to find joy in the story that we're actually living.
Just think about what would change if you accepted things as they are,
Right now.
And you can let that sit for just a moment before you go about your day.
