A morning meditation for grief.
As you deal with waves of grief,
This practice will help you welcome the tides of healing.
I am Michelle and you may think of me as a compassionate companion.
I am here to support you through this time,
Knowing that every moment may be different and you have every right to surrender to the authenticity each one brings.
As this new day begins,
Hang on to the restorative moments brought by night,
Easing into a new day.
Embrace softness and light so you may honor your feelings while also honoring your body's needs.
Begin this morning meditation by finding a comfortable position and resting your eyes.
Take a moment to settle into your body and make note of any places that may need extra tenderness and love.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Imagining the freshness of the morning air,
Bringing a cleansing sensation as it fills your lungs and your body expands.
Take all the space you need for your feelings,
For your body,
For your breath,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Casting any heaviness into the space around you so you may feel lighter.
When going through grief,
It's easy to suppress your breathing and to become tense.
It's why crying offers such release,
As it gives you no other choice but to breathe deeply.
So let's continue to breathe in a relaxing way,
Making this all easier on yourself.
Inhale and feel the expansion in your chest and abdomen like a hot air balloon rising with the sun over fairy cliffs,
Ready to take flight and observe the beauty of the world.
As you exhale,
Ground yourself in this deserved moment for you.
You are the priority.
Your healing and experience take center stage.
Continue with one more round of conscious breathing.
You inhale to your utmost capacity and exhale in a gracious audible sigh.
Now I invite you to create a visualization in a setting of your choice.
It could be a serene garden,
A castle high atop a mountain,
A cottage on a seaside cliff,
Or a cozy room.
It could be a place that means something to both you and the soul you are grieving.
Perhaps a place that carries memories or inside jokes.
Picture yourself there and as you inhale the distinct aromas of this place,
You find you are carried on a tide of deeply cherished memories and feelings.
Take in the sights,
Textures,
And sounds of this special place.
Feel a sense of calm and comfort wash over you as you connect with the essence of your loved one's presence.
In this tranquil setting,
Imagine your loved one appearing before you.
You may even hear their voice greeting you.
Before they come fully into view,
There are no limitations here.
No judgments,
No constraints.
You are free to express everything you need to say and ask.
Engage in a heartfelt conversation,
Sharing your thoughts,
Feelings,
And the things left unsaid.
Take your time,
Allowing the dialogue to flow naturally.
Fully experience every emotion that comes up and then release it.
The depth of your feelings is an indication of the depth of this connection and all the things that this relationship has ignited in you.
Each visit with your loved one may be different and unique to the emotions you're experiencing in the moment.
Allow yourself to tend to whatever needs to be worked on through today,
Knowing that this space is a haven for your feelings.
As your conversation naturally comes to an end,
Take a moment to say goodbye.
Feel the love and connection between you and your loved one,
Knowing that this is not a permanent farewell.
You will meet again.
Now as you stand in this special place,
Notice a shimmering sensation in a specific part of your body.
A place where you feel the deepest connection to your loved one's soul.
This radiant energy represents the bond you share and will inspire you throughout the day.
It embodies all the qualities you miss most about your loved one.
Their heart,
Their laughter,
Their wisdom,
Their words.
Let this energy infuse you with strength,
Curiosity,
And purpose.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
I invite you to give yourself a gentle hug.
Wrap your arms around your chest,
Feeling a sense of deep understanding and love enveloping you.
Seal in the connection you've experienced in this meditation as you carry it with you as you move forward into the day.
Know that you are not alone on this journey of grief.

Guiding you as you exemplify the incredible traits of your loved one and carry on their legacy.
