Fall into a deep sleep as you are mesmerized by this magical journey on the cusp of winter,

Where an early snowfall arrives and you find respite in a cozy A-frame cabin on a lake,

Set amid the richly colored foliage of autumn.

On this mental vacation and guided sleep meditation,

You may find the escape that you seek and rightfully deserve.

It's time to dream away.

Welcome to Michelle's Sanctuary.

You are listening to the early snow at the cabin,

A hypnotic sleep story and talk down.

I am Michelle and you may think of my voice as that of your gentle leader and friend who will help guide you and unlock the unlimited creative potential of your mind to imaginatively paint a beautiful scene that is customized purely for you to find peace and enjoyment.

So bunker down,

Cuddle up,

And find a safe place where you may drift away from thoughts of your waking life and gradually cross the bridge into your dreaming life.

There may be times in your life when you may have imagined how wonderful it would be to escape the world as you see it and find yourself safely encapsulated inside a snow globe or bubble.

And in this sleep adventure,

You may imagine right now that you are safely nestled within a globe of protection,

Simulated by the walls that surround you,

The ceiling above you,

And the floor below.

You are safe.

You are well.

You are free to let go.

Inhaling deeply as your belly rises,

Your chest expands and your collarbones lift.

You may purse your lips together as if blowing through a straw and just let it all out in an exhalation.

And as you do,

You may visualize you are walking along the edge of a road that leads you out of a small village.

And as you inhale deeply,

Filling your rib cage with crisp,

Damp air,

You may again blow that air from your pursed lips,

Seeing now as your breath is visible as puffs of silvery gray clouds float away from the warmth of your mouth.

You can feel the kinetic energy of the town behind you.

Feeling as each step is leading you closer to stillness and a deep quietude.

The air smells of wood burning fires and decaying leaves and the rich earth.

And as you walk along the shoulder of the main street that now turns into a barely used highway,

You note the leaves around you are still in full autumnal glory.

In shades of deep amber,

Chartreuse,

Magenta and rich plum,

The foliage delicately hangs.

As the trees are nearing the readiness of releasing their leaves,

Of letting go.

Just as right now,

You are ready to let go and release anything that may weigh you down.

Anything that you no longer need to bring along in this new season.

And you are comfortably adorned in a thick brick red plaid flannel jacket,

Soft,

Worn-in jeans and insulated buttery lace-up boots that gently sink into the damp earth that runs alongside the slick paved road shimmering with a wet dew.

And with each step,

You inhale and exhale.

Seeing your breath and perhaps thinking back to the first time that you realized your breath could be visible.

How fun it had been the first time when you played around and pretended to blow smoke.

And seeing your own breath is like seeing your own life force.

The aliveness in being that comes with each breath.

And how grateful you feel right now for each breath.

The late afternoon sky is a deep grey and you anticipate the change in the air.

This calm before a storm.

Sensing that even without the conversations you had earlier with people in the village.

That you would intuitively know that the weather is about to change.

And this makes you feel deeply tapped into your own intuition.

This feeling that has existed before you embraced the power of language and rational thought.

It was just a feeling.

A feeling that you could trust.

A feeling that you can now trust.

It smells like snow is on its way.

That cool,

Vibrant,

Metallic perfume that floats upon the damp twilight's air.

And with this feeling,

A few flurries begin to fall.

Melting quickly.

Some even melting in the warmer air as they get closer to the earth's surface.

Up ahead you see a dirt road that veers off the highway.

And as if to greet you,

You see a hand carved log sign that reads your name.

This is your property.

This is your sanctuary.

And your heavy feet guide you as you feel the change in sensation.

Stepping from the pillowy fallen leaves of the road's edge onto the firmer dirt road that is now damp beneath your boots.

A cooler wind begins to blow as the air changes from crisp to slightly nippy.

And you give yourself a gentle embrace and rub your hands against the warm flannel fabric of your coat.

You place your hands in the pockets and walk beneath the canopy of colorful trees that hug around the dirt road that begins to wind and to narrow the further along you go.

A bird of prey flies overhead,

Soaring with its wings in a dark silhouette against the darkening sky.

And a family of deer come upon the dirt path.

Familiar with you and your scent,

They stop and catch your gaze.

And for a moment you connect with those eyes that are surrounded by thick lashes.

And you feel the shared awareness of the present moment that grounds you and brings you a state of ease.

You feel a sense of belonging,

That you are home,

That you are of yourself and you are also of this world and this beautiful,

Sacred environment.

The sky continues to darken above.

As you come close upon a black A-frame cabin with a wraparound deck,

White Christmas lights are carefully strung along the wooden railings of the deck and the triangular shape of the home.

A dog comes running to greet you,

Your most loyal friend,

So happy for your arrival that he or she does a spin and chases his or her own tail in blissful splendor.

When you smile,

Your smile expanding into a deep laugh of joy,

You feel the creases in your face,

The origins of laugh lines that will forever tattoo your countenance with memories of joy.

And when you truly look back,

You can find even the briefest periods and simplest moments of joy that illuminate inside your heart center right now,

Like the strong Christmas lights magically illuminate your cabin getaway.

These blissful memories and sensations are strung together by the thread that is you.

You are the keeper of these thoughts and these feelings,

And they make you feel so very grateful now.

And you may even visualize that there is a chest,

Like a treasure chest,

Kept within your heart center.

There you may carefully wrap up the string of gleaming happy memories for safe keeping.

Whenever you so desire,

You may open up this hope chest and feel your face illuminated by their bright,

Warm,

Blissful energy.

Your pup leads you around the deck to the other side of the home,

The backside of this sanctuary,

This cabin that was built just for you.

This is a still lake illuminated by random porch lights on the other side of the water.

Your playful pup runs circles around the deck,

And you turn on a switch that ignites an outdoor fire pit in the center of the deck.

The dog nestles upon a wool blanket next to the fire,

Feeling so cozy and content by the appearance of the fire,

This primal thing that has kept those who came before you safe,

Alive,

And comfortable for thousands of years.

Near the fire pit,

Towards the edge of the deck,

Is a hot tub that glows brightly beneath the now darkened sky.

You think to yourself that this would be a perfect time to disrobe and unwind.

Feeling free,

Unwatched,

And able to do whatever you desire,

You remove your heavy clothes and climb the steps leading into the jacuzzi,

Counting each step,

One,

Two,

Three,

Before immersing yourself in the tub.

And within the warm bubbling water,

The lights illuminate the tub in different colors,

Feeling euphoric as a strong wind comes through and blows your hair aggressively behind you.

You remove your hands from the turquoise water and slick your hair back,

Enjoying the sensation of the cool air on your warm hands.

The steamy mist above the tub covers your face and lips with moisture as you exhale again and you feel like you are in this magical state of mind,

Once again remembering when you first experienced this.

And you continue to inhale and exhale through pursed lips,

Blowing out anything that's been trapped in your body,

Emotions,

Tightness in your muscles,

Stress,

Feelings that no longer serve you,

Just the same as the leaves falling down in the surrounding wooded area of the lake are no longer needed by the trees.

They merely weigh them down in the new season that is coming.

The jets of the tub pound streams of hot water into the deep cavities of your joints and tired muscles,

Heating and massaging them.

Your body is beginning to melt like jelly and you just sigh,

Your chest rising above the water before falling deeply below.

And now as you exhale,

You see words that begin to appear.

And as your exhale hits the air,

It takes flight on the frigid breeze that rattles the remaining leaves from the trees as they cascade down like a shower of jewel-toned streamers.

And your exhalation,

Like a trail of smoke in the air,

Is illuminated by the word believe.

And this word travels through the air until like an invisible pen,

It illuminates all the falling leaves with the word believe.

And you do.

You just believe.

Believe that everything is okay.

That you are right where you need to be right now.

That all will be as it is meant to be.

Breathing again and exhaling as the word hope rides upon your visible breath and ignites each falling leaf with the word hope.

And you are now surrounded by hope.

You are surrounded by peace and stillness and nature.

And as the last of the leaves come down in the swirling winds that whip across the lake,

Large snowflakes begin to fall as well.

Like lace doilies,

They are oversized and grand and cluster upon your hair and melt instantly in the steam of the hot tub.

Your pup is now nestled beneath the wool blanket and you close your eyes and just allow a snowflake to melt upon your lips before you lick them.

It tastes like childhood.

It tastes like winter.

Like a new season that is perfectly designed for finding safety and respite.

For hibernating.

For going deep within.

For cuddling.

For deep rest and restoration.

For slowing down and letting go.

And as the snow begins to come down more heavily,

You rise from the hot tub and reach into a chest on the deck that contains a plush oversized robe that you wrap around your person.

You call your pup while grabbing your belongings as your bare feet step upon the cold snow-dusted deck.

Your dog eagerly follows you as you enter the sliding door.

Upon entry,

The sensors installed in the house recognize you and the fireplace in the center of the room comes to life while the outside deck fire is put out.

An automatic machine begins to make your favorite hot beverage and deposits it in your favorite mug that rests below the spout.

And you feel safe and cozy as this early snowstorm intensifies outside.

The ceilings of your common area rise highly above,

Lofty and open.

Skylight windows catch the patter of snowflakes that fall and are illuminated like white crystals above.

You grab your beverage and come over near the fire,

Cuddling with a velvety blanket next to your pet.

The wind whips around the home and across the lake.

And you are so grateful to have this safe refuge.

So happy to live in a time where an early snowstorm is a welcome spectacle because you have an abode and a fire to weather out the storm.

So toasty and comfortable,

Your body still radiating heat from your time spent in the massaging bubbles of the hot tub.

You are ready to melt into the couch.

You continue sipping your drink and like a sleep tonic,

It causes you to feel more tired and relaxed.

The decor of your home is designed perfectly to meet your preferences.

And across the mantle above the fireplace are framed photos of people you have loved most in this lifetime.

And there are photos of you doing what you most enjoy.

Scanning each framed photo,

Your eyes now bleary and heavy with encroaching sleep.

You begin to see beyond what is there.

Beyond what has happened.

You begin to see a series of photos that contain all you hope to manifest.

Perhaps it is love or a career change.

Or perhaps it is great health and strength.

Perhaps there is something you have kept close to your heart.

A secret desire that is completely acceptable to keep just for you.

Whatever it is.

There are photos of all the possibilities for you and you gently smile,

Knowing deep within.

Knowing in the same place that intuition allowed you to anticipate the storm that has arrived.

That you are able to make this happen.

You are able to visualize.

You are able to do all that you need to do.

Because you are enough.

And you always have been.

You are worthy and you very much deserve to feel so good right now.

At peace.

At ease.

The snow now like icing has coated the outside deck and the skylights above.

You feel as if you are in a frozen capsule.

Kept warm by the fire.

Kept inspired by the photos upon your mantle.

And with that,

You begin to feel all the more heavy and tired.

You begin to feel a readiness for the transition that you witnessed first hand between seasons.

And how there was an ease in the overlap.

But sometimes seasons in our life may comfortably overlap so we may prepare and comfortably transition.

Feeling your eyelids fall upon your tired eyes.

Deepening your breath until your belly rises and falls.

And you just sigh.

And in mutual understanding,

Your beloved and relaxed pet begins to sigh as well.

And you stretch out and cuddle.

Allowing yourself to just let go.

Knowing the cozy dreams to come will usher you towards healing and fulfillment and guidance.

If you feel like you would like more guidance on what to do to manifest all that you desire in your waking life.

And the night feels like a bliss-filled dream.

Our bedtime story you once heard as a small child.

Spectacular and comforting.

Resonating deeply with dreams you have had before.

And your lids becoming heavy and your limbs and body sinking deeper and deeper down.

And right now you just take in the safety of this moment as the early snow storm intensifies outside.

Breathing in and out,

You are free to drift.

Just further and further away from my voice and towards this golden bridge that safely leads you to the deep stillness of sweet and sweet dreams.

Shadows dancing around you from the fire that burns brightly.

Beautiful and serene.

And you are floating deeper and deeper down.

Drifting away,

Closer to sleep.

As you inhale and exhale,

Finding surrender.

If anyone were to witness this moment,

Or you were to rise above and peer into the scene from the outside looking in,

You would see the soft and sleeping face of a person who is so very happy and relaxed.

So safe and snuggled into a beautiful place for respite.

Breathing down,

Down,

Down.

Letting your consciousness drift away from the howling wind and falling snow that may continue into the night.

Finding rest and ease.

Enjoying the safety from the storm.

I am going to count you down to this place,

A restorative and beautiful dream filled sleep.

Ten,

Nine,

Eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Finding release.

Finding peace.

Finding sleep.

It's time to dream away.

Good night.

Michelle, I commented on this a year ago, and did a repeat on this bedtime story all night. Slept soundly until almost 3am, then the youngest dog had to go outside so that was the end of sleeping. The oldest dog then decided he had to go too, just as I climbed back into bed. Finally got back to listening & didn’t wake until the alarm at 6:30am. Was a lovely bedtime story and definitely needed it to put me back to sleep for a couple of hours. Thank you kindly for helping me get some rest! .πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—
