The 10 Sacred Habits Of Meditation

With Dorothy Zennuriye Juno

During this 10-day course, you will learn the 10 sacred habits of meditation; divinely inspired teachings, offering new perspectives, and a path for you to bridge the sacral space that you curate in meditation, with the waking moments in life, beyond your practice. Discover the distinct and beautiful nature of each habit as together, we uncover what nourishes the divine oneness of what you are and what helps you to sustain your ‘awakened self’. Meditation is a means of accessing presence in who we are, inner peace and tranquility. It reminds us of our ability to have clear and right knowing as we access our inner wisdom. Meditation is a sacred path to the nonphysical and it reminds us of our infinite power as love.

Lesson 1

Intention

In today's session, we begin with a habit that may inspire you to contemplate the deeper meaning of meditation and why you wish to experience it. Intention is the deliberate choosing of your experience, while setting an intention before your meditation practice, offers you a sacred path of inspired consciousness, and a ‘desired’ experience that opens you to pure enjoyment, enhanced awareness and inner peace.

Lesson 2

Stillness

Stillness is the opportunity to be; to hold presence of this moment. In today's lesson we reflect on how, when the body is still, the mind begins to soften - to quiet. In stillness you are able to witness the moment by moment miracles of life unfolding - to being present to your experience and to observe and accept all that ‘is’. Stillness is tranquility. It is the arrival into peace.

Lesson 3

Presence

Presence is holding sacred ground, being fully attentive, awake, and mindful. Today we come to understand how presence allows for a state of pure awareness - for simply being. The sacred habit of presence is how you hold the space for your experience here and now; for all that you are - as witness and observer.

Lesson 4

Breath

Breath is a path into yourself, and invites a level of awareness where you may experience a oneness with your presence, and witness all that you are. Feel the gentle power of your breath as it sustains you, as it opens you to yourself, and invites you to experience your true energetic nature. In the sacred moments where you focus on the presence of your breath, you are one with it. You are breath.

Lesson 5

Flow

Flow is the absolute feeling of motion - of movement - the opposite of stillness. Today we learn to embrace our flow; the gentle ease to which breath moves so lovingly into and out from your body. Flow is the gentle expression of life force (energy); the beauty of life flowing through each one of us in all moments.

Lesson 6

Focus

The power of focus is in bringing attention to the present; to engage in and enjoy the beauty of this moment. In meditation, you may focus inward; to gather awareness and insight, and to decide what you will choose to give attention and momentum to. In today's sacred practice, we develop a deep appreciation of how, cultivating awareness, can allow us total freedom of choice. Here, you are invited to focus your mind at will. Experience the power of focus as you choose where you place your attention.

Lesson 7

Relaxation

Relaxation is a sacred habit of your meditation practice and it is the desired outcome for many who practice. Meditation allows us to calm our mind and subsequently relax our body. Today, let us explore how meditation is even more effective, if we can begin our practice from a state of presence, of focus, and with the intention to relax into our practice. When we relax into the process of what we are experiencing, we can truly unlock a place of divine, inner solace.

Lesson 8

Witness

In meditation as in life, we can hold witness to everything. Everything becomes an experience as we remain an attentive observer. In today's lesson, we experience what it means to witness each moment – in the full presence of it – to be attentive to what ‘is’. Let us practice observing; being a witness to all things in life and all that you experience during your practice of meditation. This is the key to living in peace and harmony with yourself - and all of life.

Lesson 9

Wisdom

You practice this sacred habit as you trust in yourself, and as you follow what you know to be right and best for you. In accessing our inner wisdom, we set a path, a course for how we will best live life. It is in this space that we are open to the expansive nature of what we are, and what we are able to offer others and the world. Wisdom is the ever-available, ever-perfect way in which you access the infinite nature of your highest self.

Lesson 10

Truth

The sacred habit of truth is your namesake. It is your destiny. It is what you witness in the presence of your highest self – your inner nature. The sacred habit of truth inspires a consciously driven life. Live this beautiful habit in meditation, as you hold stillness; focus as you open to the sacred space of your heart’s intelligence, and as you hold presence to what you witness.
