Welcome.
This is happiness.
This meditation is to help remind you of your natural state,
One of happiness,
Contentment,
Calm.
And what we do,
In fact,
Is we move ourselves out of this natural state,
Typically by what we think about.
And so I'd like to show you,
I'd like you to have the experience of bringing yourself back into your natural state of happiness.
You can join me in any posture.
You can be walking,
Seated,
Lying.
You can be doing something and take a moment out wherever you are,
Close your eyes and focus inward to recalibrate your state of being as one of happiness.
Wherever you are with your eyes closed,
Begin to follow your breath.
Follow the inhalations and exhalations as they are naturally occurring.
We use breath,
Most typically,
As a way of bringing our attention back into the present moment.
In the present moment,
You are just being.
You have an opportunity to experience your natural state.
Continue with your breathing.
As it may feel more comfortable to do so,
You may wish to increase your inhalation,
Bringing in more oxygenated air into your body and allowing for a longer,
Leisurely exhalation breath.
As you witness your breath and as you begin to witness calm,
Bring your attention deeper into the area of your heart center,
Breathing with awareness as you hold attention on the area of your heart.
Practice witnessing the present moment.
Every inhalation,
Hold your attention as you breathe in.
Every exhalation,
Feel the release out through your nose or your mouth.
Breath is a reminder that we bring into us what we choose and we release what we no longer need.
Part of your return to happiness is to mindfully choose what thoughts you will hold as you breathe in.
So you bring your awareness to your breathing,
To feeling the energy of your heart center,
And to the conscious release and letting go of whatever you've been holding onto,
Whatever has been taking up your thought energy that you no longer need and releasing it with every out-breath.
Breathe in,
Choosing the words,
The sensations,
The feeling that you wish to hold in your being.
For a moment,
As you pause before you exhale,
Feel the energy of your heart center.
And as you release your breath,
Let go of whatever thoughts,
Sensations,
Anything at all that you no longer wish to have to hold onto.
And let go of whatever thoughts you have that you no longer wish to have to hold onto.
Continue in this beautiful breath cycle,
Breathing in,
Choosing what you wish to bring into you,
Including the thoughts you hold,
The feelings you will feel.
And before you exhale,
Notice that gentle pause at the top of your inhalation breath where you pause for a moment,
Feeling the energy of your heart center before you exhale,
Releasing breath,
Releasing what you don't need.
