Hi,
Friend.
If you're listening to this,
I'm guessing you're overstimulated or touched out or just mentally done for the day.
Before we do anything else,
You're not failing.
Your nervous system is just tired.
Let's give it a small reset.
You don't need to sit perfectly.
You don't need silence in your house.
You don't need to clear your mind.
Just take one slow breath in and let it go.
Again,
Inhale gently through your nose and exhale a little longer than feels natural.
If it feels safe,
Let your shoulders drop just one inch.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your tongue rest at the bottom of your mouth.
Notice where the body feels tight.
Not to fix it,
Just to notice.
Now bring one hand to your chest and the other above your belly button.
Take a slow breath in.
As you breathe out,
Imagine your body getting 2% softer,
Not calm,
Just 2% softer.
You don't need to be peaceful right now.
You just need to be here.
If your thoughts are racing,
That's okay.
That's what an overwhelmed brain does.
Instead of fighting it,
Imagine they're like notifications on your phone.
They can be there,
But you don't have to open them right now.
Take another breath,
Inhale and exhale longer.
Right now in this exact moment,
No one needs anything from you.
You are allowed to pause.
Let your body feel supported by the chair,
The floor,
The wall behind you.
And if it helps,
Silently repeat,
I am safe enough in this moment.
I am safe enough in this moment.
I can soften just a little.
I can soften just a little.
One more breath,
Inhale and a long exhale.
Before we finish,
I want you to notice something small.
Maybe the feeling of air on your skin,
Or the sound in the room,
Or the weight of your hand resting on your body.
That's your anchor.
You can come back to it anytime the day gets loud.
Take one final slow breath in,
And exhale.
And when you're ready,
Gently return,
Knowing you didn't need to fix your whole life just now,
You just needed five minutes.
