Tonight,
Imagine you are cozy and safe,
Tucked inside your sleeping bag beside a warm little campfire.
The fire crackles softly nearby.
Little sparks floating up into the dark sky like tiny glowing stars.
Above you,
The night is wide and deep,
Filled with twinkling lights.
And the moon is watching quietly over everything.
You are warm.
You are safe.
And your body can begin to rest now.
Take one slow breath in through your nose,
And breathe it out gently.
Again,
Slow breath in,
And a soft breath out.
One more time,
Breathing in calm,
And breathing out all the busy parts of the day.
Now feel your toes inside your blanket.
Let them get very still,
Very quiet.
Let your legs grow soft and heavy,
Like they are sinking into comfort.
Let your tummy relax,
Slow and easy.
Let your shoulders drop down.
They have nothing left to carry tonight.
And now let your face grow soft.
Your cheeks,
Your eyes,
Your forehead.
Everything calm and peaceful.
The fire glows gently beside you,
Not too bright,
Just warm and sleepy.
The trees are standing tall nearby,
Very quiet in the night.
The tiniest breeze moving through the leaves.
Above you,
The stars shine like tiny lanterns,
One by one,
Watching over your dreams.
And now even the fire seems quieter,
Smaller,
Softer.
Your breathing is slow.
Your body is still.
Your blanket feels warm.
Now imagine one star above you shining just a little brighter than the others.
That star is holding peaceful dreams for you tonight.
You do not need to do anything now.
Just rest.
Just listen.
The fire crackles softly.
The night is calm.
And sleep can come gently now.
Good night.
