The focus of the meditation ‘Wishes for the world’ is to answer the question: “What did I do last year for The World?”. 'World' refers to people you don’t know yet. You’ll tune into your breath, the sensations in your body and reflect on what you did that might have had an impact on the world. You’ll also evaluate how this made you feel. This self-inquiry exercise is part of the journal 'Goodbye Old. Hello New.’ which is written by Marianne de Kuyper.

Hello and welcome to goodbye old hello new and today we will look at a reflection on the world and the world means the people you don't know yet and we will look at what you did in the last year that might have had an impact not only on you and the people that you do know which i refer to as others but also the people you don't know personally yet and that i call the world and we will look at how this made you feel so i would say make yourself comfortable and then let your mind move back to last year so what did you do in the last year that you didn't do for yourself or the people that you know already but for the world so are there things that you've done in the last year that might have had an impact on the world on people you don't know yet and maybe not only the people that you haven't personally met but also simply the world around you so the place where you live your surroundings nature earth and it could be as simple as having picked up the garbage that people have left behind in nature and then putting it where it belongs in the bin in town for example so the things that we do for ourselves for the people that we know in the world they can seem very small but still the impact can be much bigger than you might have expected so there may be things that you did in the last year that you simply felt like doing that you felt the urge to do that might have had a positive impact on the world the place where you live the people around you and how did it make you feel how did it make you feel and is there a longing a wish for the coming year what could you or would you like to do more of in the next year for the world so what have you done in the last year that has had an impact on the world most probably how did it make you feel and what would you like to do in the next year for the world around you the people around you and the place where you live and you can stay with these thoughts sit down a little longer putting those questions at the back of your mind feel free to rephrase them and notice anything that comes up to surface maybe you write it down or make a mental note of it and stay with it as long as you would like to come back to the questions as often as you want to and whenever you feel ready to finish the meditation sit still for a couple more seconds and then when you're ready you can open your eyes and then you can get ready for the rest of your day
