Hello and welcome to five minutes in nature with me Liz Scott up on a morning on Dartmoor.
It's a lovely fresh feel to this morning.
We've had some hot weather and everything looks parched and dry.
And I'm up by my favorite hawthorn tree just having a bit of time to breathe in this cooler morning air and to take in the scene as you know I've been away to Scotland and you know there's something about coming home and this is what I want to talk about today is this idea of coming home and for me it makes so much sense and I can only talk about this from my perspective but for me coming home that feeling of I mean,
I've enjoyed being away.
I've enjoyed Scotland.
I've enjoyed the travels.
I love the camper van.
I love discovering new places.
But nothing beats coming home.
That sense of.
.
.
It's almost like a tension that I didn't know was there is released.
And I sink into this delight at being back home.
Is it the familiarity of the places?
Is it feeling that sense of love and connection to people and the things around me that I know and the places I know.
I don't know what it is exactly.
But I do know that feeling of coming home.
It's got a special quality to it.
And when I came across the three principles or the inside-out understanding.
.
.
The best way I could describe what I was experiencing was this sense of coming home.
I had spent so many years doing so many different things.
I was on a self-development,
Personal development drive,
Read loads of books,
Went on lots of courses.
I really enjoyed that exploration.
For me,
There's a parallel there of when I go away,
I love exploring new things and discovering new places.
It was like that with me on my personal journey.
I loved it.
I explored so many things.
But when I came across the Three Principles,
And I'm not going to go into them here,
But there is a course called the Three Principles that you can explore if you want to learn more.
It's also known as the Inside Out Understanding.
But in essence,
The three principles is pointing you back within.
Not within your body,
It's pointing you back within the energy of life itself.
And what I realize with the Three Principles is it's so simple.
There's only ever one place to look.
It looks like there's a myriad of upsets and uncomfortable things happening in my world,
In my experience,
And yet the answer is always the same.
At least it is for me.
It's bringing my awareness back to that energy of life itself.
Because I am made of that energy of life.
It's a universal energy,
You are.
Everything I'm seeing around me comes from that energy of life.
It is the energy that powers everything.
Everything that is alive is made of it.
And even the objects,
Any objects we see that aren't alive,
Well,
They're made of it too.
It's animate and inanimate.
It's made of the same stuff.
So when I talk about coming home,
It's coming back to something within me that feels truer.
And more alive.
And more real and tangible and grounded than anything I could conceive with my little logical mind.
Coming home is a feeling,
A sense of landing,
A sense of being in the right place.
And the temptation for you and the temptation for me might be to get busy trying to fix life,
Fix people,
Fix our circumstances.
But the reminder always is.
The only place to look is within.
Bring your awareness within and get a sense that you are connected to that ever-present life energy force,
That spiritual energy that is at the heart and essence of everything.
And that is what it is to come home.
Let me know your reflections on this.
And of course,
Don't forget to join me again tomorrow for another five minutes in nature.
