My name is Liza and welcome to your How to Navigate this Mercury Retrograde in Leo.

I've been seeing a lot of headlines lately,

The negativity of,

Oh,

This Mercury Retrograde is going to be a crazy one.

This is the Mercury Retrograde in Leo.

And I feel like astrology can re-traumatize us a lot.

And I think the medicine in astrology is for us to use it to heal or to navigate or to reflect on themes.

So yes,

A Mercury Retrograde isn't necessarily a comfortable energy to work with because it is challenging our communication.

It's a bit of a trickster.

We are very dependent on technology as human beings and Mercury Retrograde messes a little bit with the technology.

It's the time to slow down.

It's the time to pause.

And it's not the only planet going in retrograde.

There are multiple planets in retrograde right now.

So we're going to go ahead and dive on in to how to navigate this particular Mercury Retrograde.

So the Mercury Retrograde,

Which begins on July 18th,

Is not necessarily a bad when I was looking at the specs.

It's not a bad retrograde.

I mean,

Yes,

There's a little bit of opposition happening.

But I also want to break this down for new astrologists,

New astrology junkies,

Where I'm going to try to explain what a retrograde is in astronomy.

A retrograde is simply as our galaxy and our orbit,

Earth's orbit surrounds the Sun,

There are all these other planets and cosmic masses that are orbiting the Sun.

So kind of like if we pass a slow moving car by and it looks for a moment like it's going backwards,

When really it's not,

We're just passing it by.

It's the same thing with our Earth and these planets.

It looks like they are moving backwards in the sky,

But in reality,

We're just kind of shimmying around,

Orbiting around until eventually we all kind of align the same way again.

So it's very interesting.

But a retrograde isn't actually a planet going backwards.

It's simply the look of it that we are actually passing it.

Things are seemingly moving backwards,

But in reality,

We're pushing forward,

Which is a beautiful theme in and of itself.

So these retrogrades are a moment in astrology to really reflect on pausing,

To take the energy in,

To reflect,

To slow down,

To be adaptable.

We have currently Pluto,

Saturn,

And Neptune all in retrograde.

Pluto is retrograde in Aquarius.

We are in the age of Aquarius.

So a lot of that transformation that is happening with Aquarian themes,

Which ironically are very technology-based,

It is also that energy of self-awareness.

The age of Pluto,

Or Pluto in Aquarius,

Was also around the Revolutionary War in America,

And there's revolutions happening internally and externally.

And then we have Saturn in retrograde in Aries,

Along with Neptune retrograde in Aries.

And this is the energy of coming inward,

Setting healthy boundaries for ourselves inward,

Taking accountability inward.

Neptune retrograde can kind of create this almost discontented feeling.

Neptune is very dreamy and very romantic and idealistic,

But inward,

When it goes in retrograde,

It can have us look inward at our dreams and our alignment with our spirit.

And sometimes it could get us very discontent.

We can sometimes go like,

Is this really an alignment?

Is this really making sense with who I am and what I want within my life?

So this isn't really the time to make rash decisions,

But it is the time to explore and to get little aha moments.

And then of course,

Mercury's retrograde will be in Leo.

So you may hear that Mercury retrograde in Leo is going to be a little bit more dramatic.

It's going to be a little bit more exciting and bold,

But I feel that this is a great time for internal affirmations of,

I am confident,

I am worthy of these things.

I am worthy of speaking my truth.

That being said,

Miscommunication can be a bit more fiery.

So I think that's also important to recognize with this energy.

Leo rules identity,

Self-expression,

Creativity,

And the stories we tell about who we really are.

And Mercury retrograde moving through Leo asks us to rethink not just what we say,

But why we say things and why we do things.

So pause,

Reflect,

And ask yourself or take the time to ask yourself when we say certain things or when we act in certain ways,

Are we doing it out of our pride or hurt ego?

Or are we doing this from a place of true authenticity?

I will say this for this Mercury retrograde as I was looking at the transits.

If you feel you're a god or untouchable during this time,

You will be humbled very quickly.

This is the type of Mercury retrograde to laugh,

To not take ourselves so seriously,

And I'll dive into a little bit more of why I feel that,

But this is the time to allow ourselves to just go with the flow in a very humble,

Nonchalant,

I'm not perfect,

I'm not the expert kind of energy.

So key dates to work with this energy.

July 23rd,

Mercury retrograde squares Lilith in Scorpio.

Lilith is that point or that dark point in our solar system that's all about a little bit of the shadow work.

It represents the hidden.

It represents the taboo.

It represents a woman's rage.

It's all about desires,

But it could also be about our shame and where that is.

And Scorpio is very good with the shadow work.

So Lilith and Scorpio,

Or I feel that that's very much at home,

Lilith and Scorpio.

But I would say because Mercury in Leo is squaring Lilith and Scorpio,

It's kind of a little bit of this challenge with masculine meets divine feminine energy or divine feminine shadow work.

It's a little bit of Kali energy or the energy of women,

You know,

Burning bras,

Even maybe a little bit of Me Too movement energy meeting a very Leo Yang masculine energy.

And if that Yang energy is too proud and not willing to say,

Yes,

There is shadow,

Leo is also the sun,

Right?

The sun is the ruling planetary aspect for Leo.

So it's I feel like the conversations,

Maybe even conversations,

If you're kind of mad at your masculine partner or some sort of person in your life who takes on a very masculine leader type role,

Energy,

Papa energy,

Grandpapa energy,

And you are in rage,

Just watch out for these old narratives around father and patriarchy and capitalism,

Even in the personal energies,

Watch how maybe sometimes sacred anger surfaces.

And instead of projecting it outward,

This is a great time to sit with that energy to journal,

To really ask ourselves,

What do I need to evolve from in a way that maybe isn't necessarily burning things down?

Because Lilith and Scorpio is very like,

Let's burn,

Let's burn the bras,

Let's burn things down.

But with Mercury Retro,

It's almost challenging that Lilith and Scorpio,

Yes,

Recognize,

Recognize the stuff that isn't healthy,

That control or that I'm better than anyone else energy that sometimes can be with this Leo masculine energy.

And it's that time to sit with it and instead of project it out and yell it out,

We use that energy of Mercury to internally work with this stuff.

So that's a key date for July 23rd of this Mercury Retrograde.

And then on July 24th,

We have the new moon in Leo conjoining the Mercury Retrograde.

So the moon,

The sun and Mercury will all be in alignment opposing Pluto in Aquarius and Pluto will also be in retrograde.

So I find this to be a super interesting little,

Little dance,

Little cosmic dance because we have the new moon in Leo setting intentions and fresh start.

It is Leo season.

It is the season of confidence.

It is the season of feeling ourselves and feeling like the kings and queens and leaders and emperors that we are.

It's a season to really embrace ourselves in a I am worthy way.

Conjoining with Mercury and retrograde,

It's almost again like that internal affirmation.

We don't have to say it outwardly.

We say it inwardly.

I am worthy.

I am good.

I am enough.

I'm ready.

I am setting those intentions.

But it's opposing Pluto retrograde,

Which is internal transformation.

So there's this little bit of a challenge with the status quo,

The systems we are used to and how we are internally changing and internally kind of looking at ourselves and internally evolving and transforming with what the conversations of what am I really worthy of?

What do I really want?

A lot of introspection,

A lot of internal rewriting and internal review and rewriting your personal myths as well and really asking yourself,

Well,

Who told us that this was supposed to be this way?

Who created these systems and why are we still doing this?

Do we still subscribe to this?

Is it working for us?

Why?

I joked with this with my students yesterday.

It's kind of like undercover boss where the boss has had his company for 30 or 40 years and he decides to go undercover and he goes to the company and he sees all these outdated systems that actually aren't working.

In the beginning,

They worked great,

But now he's seeing the employees and he's like,

Wait a minute,

That might not actually work.

So it's a time to be humble,

To set new intentions when it comes to transformation and to not let – I really feel this is not the time to let our egos get in the way of our transformation and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius is that challenge to be very self-aware,

To be very awake,

To be very aware of ourselves and be ready to download the aha moments.

So this is a portal really to reclaim our narratives,

To recognize the things that are and to think to ourselves like why are we doing this again?

Why are we doing this again?

Why are we subscribing to this again?

Why are we believing this again?

So that's very interesting.

And then on July 30th,

We have a Mercury Kazemi.

What does that mean?

The planet Mercury conjoins or comes in alignment with the sun at 9 degrees in Leo.

The Sabian symbol is a light in the storm moment.

The mind has an aha moment.

Things clarify.

It's a day for revelations,

For writing,

Creativity,

Meditation,

Musing.

It's also about making internal empowered decisions.

July 30th,

There's something really beautiful about this date.

All of this feels like a cosmic invitation.

And I think if we can,

A big how-to is to just be very humble,

To learn to laugh at ourselves,

To embrace the imperfection of this life that is imperfect at times.

And that Kazemi just sheds light and has that internal aha moment,

That internal awakening.

On August the 3rd,

There's a stunning mystic triangle and also a kite going on in the sky,

But we'll just focus on the Mercury retrograde mystic triangle for this video.

But the mystic triangle has Mercury retrograde,

The sun in Leo,

Trining the moon in Sagittarius,

And then a trine with the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune.

That's a lot.

I'm in errors.

I'm saying a lot.

I'm saying a lot.

So basically,

I'm going to have like a little thing somewhere up here.

I'm not going to point because I don't really know,

But I'm going to show you guys that there's a gorgeous triangle that incorporates the planet Saturn and Neptune,

The moon in Sagittarius,

And Mercury retrograde conjoined with the sun in Leo.

There's something here.

There's something really beautiful there.

If there was on August 30th an awakening moment,

August the 3rd is going to have a really good moment for blessings,

For great communication.

There's almost this story that's happening for the collective at least with this is we are starting off getting kind of annoyed in the beginning of the Mercury retrograde.

We're all annoyed at something.

There's something that's taking us off,

And we can't really put our finger on it.

And then towards the middle,

We're starting to have these aha revelations.

And towards the end,

It almost feels like the crest of the wave has fallen,

And we're like,

Oh,

Oh,

We get it.

We understand.

I totally understand.

So yes,

Be humble.

It's about to leave Aries and go back into Pisces.

It's interesting Saturn conjoined with Neptune.

Saturn and Neptune are always very close together in the sky.

They have this partnership.

But Saturn cannot be more,

I feel,

Of Neptune's opposite,

Where Saturn is responsibility and accountability and reality.

And let's look at the facts.

Neptune is all about dreaminess.

Neptune is all about let's look at the big picture.

Let's dream.

Let's explore.

Let's get curious.

Let's tune on into the unreal.

Let's tune on into the subconscious.

So their pairing is very interesting because it's where dreams become reality.

I love it.

I love when Saturn gets with Venus.

I love when Saturn gets with Neptune because we're talking about realistic,

Practical manifestation vibes.

In Aries,

One degree,

It's that action.

It's like that starting point.

But we're starting by taking a step back.

So we have the Sabian symbol.

A woman has risen out of the ocean.

A seal is embracing her.

A rebirth of the self.

It's a very Aphrodite or Lakshmi energy.

There's a return to the beauty,

The return to the instincts,

This integration of the mystical with the human.

A sextile with Venus in Gemini.

It's sharing a house right now with Uranus in Gemini.

So it's a bit flirty.

It's also a bit revolutionary and new ideas that are coming with Uranus in Gemini.

And that's a whole other video I want to dive on into.

But Venus in Gemini,

Very flirty,

Very,

I would say like a little jet setter,

A little Gemini energy is all about communication and thinking outside of the box and community.

Most of the air signs are very community and social based.

With Venus in Gemini,

When thinking about the material realm,

Our love,

Our passion,

Our money,

Our beauty,

Our art,

Our creativity,

Gemini,

I just see it just feels very light.

It feels very flirting with someone at an art gallery with like a little cocktail or a cute little drink and having little cheeky moments.

It's kind of that energy happening.

So with Mercury Retrograde coming internally in Leo,

It's kind of internally romantic.

Hard conversations are happening,

But deep loving conversations are happening.

A reflection on how you love others,

An internal reflection.

So we're not looking at the outside.

How do you abundance?

How do you do abundance and money?

That's another question.

How do you do creativity?

What is that relationship?

There's something about this boldness of Leo mixing with this flirty energy of Venus in Gemini and then Mercury kind of being a bit more analytical and thinking there's something there.

There's something really beautiful there.

And that kind of translates for most of Mercury Retrograde.

And then our Mercury Retrograde ends on August the 11th with that beautiful mystical triangle.

So how to's?

Reclaim the pause.

Delays aren't punishments.

And mistakes aren't,

Don't mean that you're this imperfect,

Awful human being.

Human or humanity is normal and authentic.

And I think if you embrace your authenticity and you embrace the imperfections with a little bit of that cheeky Venus energy,

A little beauty,

A little grace,

People will actually gravitate a little bit more towards you during this season.

Journal without editing,

Especially around July 23rd to the 24th,

What anger,

Desire,

Or rebellion arises?

Honor it without trying to explain it.

A great journal question to ask yourself is why am I angry or who's making me angry and what are the people or what are the circumstances or what's stressing me out?

And don't judge or shame yourself.

Write it down.

Let it go.

And be aware,

Just to be aware of yourself and say,

Okay,

This is what is triggering me.

This is what is throwing me off a bit.

So being aware of those feelings.

Speak with intention.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo teaches us that our words really matter.

So is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it kind?

Those are all really important.

So slow down.

Speak with intention.

Play to heal.

Venus in Gemini and especially with Uranus in Gemini,

It reminds us joy and play are not frivolous.

They can be freeing.

They could be very freeing.

So play in order to heal.

Again,

Don't take yourself too seriously and trust the rebuild.

With Pluto and Saturn and Neptune,

All in retrograde,

There's this time period where society structures are shifting.

And it's okay to shift too.

You're not behind.

You're evolving.

It's okay for you to have a different opinion,

To change,

To realize,

You know what,

I don't think the same way anymore.

And I think it's also important to challenge a little bit of,

Especially now in the States when things are so divided.

And trust me,

I don't,

I'm just going to say it out loud.

I don't care for what's happening right now.

I really don't.

It's waking us up to how cruel we can be to one another.

And it's bringing up a lot of old wounds around,

You know,

World War II and Civil War,

Not trusting one another.

And with that,

I am trying to trust that even in the midst of chaos,

Even in the midst of the Revolutionary War where Uranus was in Gemini,

The Civil War and World War II,

Even though we were awful to each other,

A lot of insights and awakenings came.

Technically,

I am here because of those wars.

And though they are unnecessary,

I find them to be unnecessary.

When things come up,

When a little bit of chaos comes up,

Know that sometimes the chaos comes up because the old world is falling away and the new world is building.

And let's not be afraid of it.

Let's lean into it.

Let's be kind.

Let's be compassionate to ourselves,

But mostly to others.
