In this guided imagery practice, we will find ourselves as the lotus flower. Rooting through the mud, resting in the water - completely undisturbed, and growing the pedals of our mind to reach clarity and peace.

Starting in a comfortable position,

Focusing on our breath.

Noticing our breath coming in through the nose and out through the nose.

Inhaling and exhaling.

On our next inhale,

Taking a bit deeper of breaths.

Noticing the air fill our diaphragm and exhaling.

Noticing the torso relax easily and effortlessly.

Taking a few more breaths just like that.

On our next exhale,

Imagining roots growing out of your feet and hands.

These roots expanding down,

Keeping you humble and grounded.

Slowing our breath.

Seeing our roots moving slowly down into the thick mud that we traveled through to get us to this warm and comfortable place we are currently in.

Thinking of our minds like the petals of a lotus flower.

What does your lotus flower look like?

What color is it?

And what size is the flower?

How many layers of petals does your lotus flower have?

Feeling your mind opening up and expanding out like the petals of your lotus flower atop the water's surface.

Seeing the sun rays shine down on your lotus flower,

Allowing it to expand further over the water's surface.

Even when the lotus flower's water experiences disturbances,

The flower floats over the water's ripples remaining completely at peace.

Allowing your mind to be the lotus flower,

Soaking up sun rays of knowledge and experience.

While floating peacefully over rippling disturbances in its environment.

Bringing our attention back to our roots,

Our breath.

Feeling the air fill our diaphragm and exhaling,

Noticing the torso relax easily and effortlessly.

Taking a few more breaths just like that.
