Dear Universe,
Thank you,
Just thank you.
Not for anything specific,
Just for all of it.
For the way the light looks in the morning,
For the breath that came before this one and the one that will come after,
For the fact that I am here,
In this body,
In this life,
With all its mess and beauty and uncertainty.
I don't always remember to notice,
I know I get caught up in what's missing and what hasn't arrived yet and in what didn't go the way I planned.
But today I want to feel it,
Like really feel it,
The aliveness of being here,
The quiet miracle of an ordinary moment.
You gave me senses that can feel warmth.
You gave me a heart that can be moved by music and by kindness,
By a stranger's smile.
You gave me a mind that can dream things into being,
How extraordinary that is.
How easy it is to forget.
So today I'm not asking for anything,
I'm just arriving,
Fully present,
Fully here,
Letting gratitude move through me like a slow warm wave.
And let me carry this feeling into the day,
Let it color how I see,
How I speak,
How I move through the world.
Because a grateful heart doesn't just receive more,
It becomes more,
More open,
More alive and more of itself.
And that is everything.
