So go ahead and find your meditation position,
Maybe seated or lying down.
Just any position that feels good to you right now.
And let your hands rest open in your lap or down by your sides.
If it feels good to you,
You can close your eyes.
And just take a moment to drop into the space.
Dropping into your meditation.
Noticing that you're here.
That you exist in this moment.
And tune in to your breath.
For the next few rounds of breath,
Really just feel the air moving in and out of your body.
And begin to slow your breath down.
Just allowing every breath to become a little bit deeper.
Little bit easier.
Bit more effortless.
Just breathing in through the nose.
And sighing it out through the mouth.
Just doing this a few times.
Breathing in through the nose and a long,
Slow exhale.
Now bring your awareness to the space around you.
Not the objects in the room or the walls or even the floor.
But the space itself.
The air between you and everything else.
The invisible,
Silent space that holds everything in the room.
Including you.
And just feel into it for a moment.
The space in front of you.
The space behind you.
The space above your head.
In the space below your feet.
Space to your left.
In this space to your right.
You You're not just an object in a room.
You're surrounded by space in every direction.
Held by it,
Supported by it.
Now bring that same awareness inside.
Notice the space inside of your body.
The space inside your lungs as they expand with each breath.
A space inside your chest,
Your belly,
And your throat.
Even your cells have space.
At the most fundamental level,
You are far more space than you may realize.
And now see if you can feel the boundary between the space inside you and the space outside of you.
And see if you can notice that area begin to soften.
As the breath moves in and out.
Every breath that boundary becomes a bit more open.
Inside and outside merging together.
With every inhale you feel the space around you flowing in.
And with every exhale,
You feel yourself expanding outward into it.
Is back and forth.
In and out.
The space inside you and the space around you.
One continuous unbroken space of stillness.
Now bring your awareness to something even more subtle than the space around you.
Bring it to the awareness itself.
The part of you that is noticing all of this.
Notice that there is something in you that is aware right now in this moment.
There's a quality of knowing.
Of presence.
Of being here that just simply exists.
This is the deepest part of you.
The part that has always been present,
Even since you were a child.
The part that watches thoughts arise and pass like clouds in the sky.
And know that you don't have to create this awareness.
It's already there.
It's always been here.
It exists to witness and to be aware.
And just allow yourself to exist in the space with your pure awareness.
Now begin to bring your awareness back to the breath.
Letting the breath deepen.
Beginning to wiggle your fingers and your toes as you slowly reawaken.
Bringing yourself back to your body and back to this moment.
Opening the eyes and closing your meditation practice.
