We'll begin by getting comfortable.
Maybe releasing the shoulders,
Unclenching the jaw,
Relaxing the abdomen,
And just settling into a position where you can fully surrender your body and be physically at ease.
And then once you've settled,
Take a few big,
Deep,
Easy breaths in through the nose and exhale out of your mouth.
Do this two more times.
And now bring your awareness to your feet,
Softening the soles of your feet,
Relaxing the toes,
The heels,
The tops of the feet and the ankles,
Releasing the calves and the shins,
Relaxing the fronts of the knees and the backs of the knees,
And releasing the thighs,
Softening through the hips and pelvis,
Letting the abdomen be soft and heavy,
And letting go of any tension in the low back,
Mid back,
And upper back,
Softening the little muscles that run up and down the spine,
And letting the muscles between the ribs release and the chest open,
Letting go of tension through the collar bone,
The shoulders and the shoulder blades,
Releasing all the way down through the arms to the fingertips,
Opening the neck and throat,
Unclenching the jaw,
Allowing the tongue to fall away from the roof of the mouth,
Maybe the lips part,
The cheeks,
The ears soften,
The eyes become heavy,
The forehead,
Temples,
Top of the head and the back of the head all release,
And just let everything be soft and heavy,
Body is completely at ease.
And now bring your awareness back to your feet,
Focusing on the feet,
And feel your feet standing in comfortable shoes on top of a stone paved path.
You look around and you see that you are standing on a stone path that has been carved into a grassy field that expands far and wide.
You look around and you see the rolling hills in the distance.
Everywhere you look it's green.
There's some sheep off in the distance on a hill and the sun is high in the sky.
You decide to follow the path,
Walking on it,
It begins to wind through the hills.
You take your time,
Enjoying the walk,
Noticing the small white wildflowers that pop up between blades of grass.
Butterflies are fluttering through the air,
And you can see that spring has just begun.
Everything has recently reawakened and blossomed with life.
You continue to walk.
You turn a corner on the path and you see there's a small wooden gate that takes you to a new part of the field.
And so you walk up to it,
Unlatch the gate,
And step through it.
Immediately you're hit with a sense of peace,
Calm,
And deep knowing that this is a special and sacred space.
You can just feel its magic all around you.
It just feels special here.
And so you take a few steps.
You look around and you notice how the grass has now turned mossy and it's plush.
There's a few trees that are old and strong reaching up towards the sky,
Giving you some shade from the sun.
You take a few more steps on the path and you see that you've reached a small and ancient staircase that wraps down the side of a small hill.
So you begin to go down these steps,
Carved into the hillside.
And you think about those that have walked these steps before,
Taking the journey through the field into this special place and down the stairs to also access their inner wisdom.
So you walk down a few final steps.
You find yourself at the opening of a small,
Shallow cave.
You can hear birds chirping.
You bow your head slightly to step into the cave.
And you see there's a natural spring well against the back wall.
This is what you've been looking for.
So you walk up to the well and you set an intention.
Maybe it's something specific you want guidance on.
Or perhaps you just want to awaken your inner wisdom or connect with it.
Whatever it is,
You kneel on the ground,
Close your eyes,
And you pull out of the bag that you have with you a white candle.
You light it as you set your intention.
You set it off to the side and you take a big,
Deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Then you reach down,
Close to the water.
And cupping your hands,
You bring the water up to your face where you splash the water across your face.
You do this two more times.
And then you sit in quiet contemplation by the well.
Just sitting and listening.
Maybe asking your inner wisdom to come forward.
Or asking for guidance.
Or perhaps you just sit and listen.
You can hear the birds in the distance.
You feel so peaceful,
So at ease,
So connected to your inner self.
And so you just listen,
Connecting with your inner wisdom,
Your deepest knowing,
And your internal guide.
And you take a few more moments here listening.
And then when you're ready,
You thank your wisdom for all that it shared.
You open your eyes and blow out your candle.
And from your bag,
You pull out one more thing.
A small token of gratitude that you'll leave by the well.
It can be anything.
And you pack up your bag and head back to your cave.
You're once again met by the beautiful green that's all around you.
The wonderful life that surrounds you.
As you take one more step forward,
It all begins to fade away as you return back to your body and back to this moment.
The here and now.
Taking one more big,
Deep breath.
Opening the eyes and closing your meditation practice.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
