Welcome to this simple meditation for bringing energy and attention to your chakras,
Which are energy centers located along the midline of your body.
This is an opportunity to check in and feel these areas of your body,
Reflecting on the information they may be giving you about different areas of your life.
We will take some time to feel each of these intimate parts of your body,
And as we do,
I invite you to get curious about how each part feels,
And if there is anything this part of the body or this chakra may be trying to communicate with you.
Please take a moment to get comfortable.
We will be working with an upward flow,
So you may like to do this one seated in a chair with your feet planted on the ground,
But it's totally fine to lie down or even move around if that's what's most comfortable and accessible for you right now.
As you're getting settled,
Do your fidgeting and adjust so that wherever you are,
You can breathe easily.
Go ahead and take a couple of breaths to clear whatever has been going on for you today and get present.
Notice the earth beneath your body.
Take a moment to acknowledge the land that you are on and your relationship with it,
Which is historical,
Cultural,
And also intimate,
Immediate.
Remember yourself as a part of the web of everything.
Take a moment also to honor the lineage and legacy that we tap into when we work with our chakras,
Honoring the long and complex lineage of teachers that brings us this knowledge today.
Now imagine with me a circle of protection surrounding your body.
This could be a circle of chalk,
Salt,
Or heavy stones.
The intention of this circle is to protect you from any energies that do not align with your highest good.
Now bring your awareness to your first chakra,
Muladhara.
This is located right at the base of your spine,
Low in the bowl of your pelvis.
Imagine a spinning ball of energy,
A warm,
Bright red color.
This energy flows down your legs and into the earth,
Through the soles of your feet.
Feel the energy connecting to the earth beneath you,
Spreading like roots,
Allowing you to feel safe,
Secure,
Rooted,
And connected.
These roots tap into an energy of universal love and healing.
This beautiful energy rises up again,
Through the roots,
Into your feet,
Your legs,
And back into the spinning ball of red energy,
Low in your pelvis.
You are safe.
Your body is here.
You are connected to the earth.
Now allow this energy of universal love and healing to travel up to your second chakra,
Svadhisthana,
The sacral chakra.
It is located in your belly,
Below the level of your belly button.
Some feel this in the womb,
Others around the testicles,
Others simply in the lower belly.
Imagine a warm glow of orange energy in your lower belly,
The sweet shade of an early sunset.
This is a place of creation,
Sexuality,
Sensuality,
And pleasure.
It is related to movement,
Desire,
Instinct,
And the ways you connect with the energies of the earth and the moon.
Enjoy the sweetness of this warm sunset glow in your lower belly.
Now allow this loving,
Healing energy to continue to rise to the solar plexus chakra,
Manipura.
This is located above the belly button,
Around the stomach area.
Here,
Imagine a bright,
Sunshiny yellow ball of energy spinning merrily.
This is the source of your power,
Your fire,
Your ability to act for yourself,
To set boundaries,
To clarify who you are and what you need.
Feel the spark of energy in your solar plexus,
Shining like the sun.
Breathe into it.
This energy continues to rise now to the heart chakra,
Anahata,
In the center of the chest behind the sternum bone.
This is a lush green color,
Like dew-laden morning grass,
New leaves growing on a tree,
Or the bud of a flower before its petals can be seen.
This is the chakra of love,
Relationships,
Community,
And connection.
This is the chakra about belonging,
Your place in the world.
Breathe into this bright green spin of energy in the center of your chest.
Now this loving,
Healing energy rises again to your throat,
Vishuddha chakra,
A light blue or aquamarine energy at the base of the throat.
This is an energy of speaking,
Of truth,
Expression,
And also listening.
Feel that bright aquamarine light spinning at the base of your throat.
Now we rise to the third eye,
Asana chakra,
In the center of the brain between the eyebrows and slightly above them.
This chakra's color is deep indigo blue.
This is the source of your intuition,
Your clear seeing,
Your knowing,
Which is both spiritual and material.
Feel this deep inner eye opening.
And now this loving,
Healing energy rises again,
Just above your head,
To sahasrara,
The crown chakra,
Our connection to spirit and the universe.
Its color has been understood as clear,
White,
Golden,
Or ultraviolet light.
Notice how you see it.
This beautiful spiritual energy center spins gently just above your head,
Inviting the heavenly energies that are most in alignment with our highest good.
Take some time to feel all these energies in alignment with each other,
Spinning together,
Balancing the energy so that every chakra is important.
Everyone matters.
None is left behind.
Allow the beautiful energies of love and healing to suffuse your body,
Your mind,
And your spirit.
Now imagine with me that you are surrounded by a sphere of beautiful white light,
A sphere of protection and safety.
Your spiritual openness is just for you.
Intend with me to protect it from any energies that are not in alignment with our highest good.
Allow this sphere of light to filter out anything that is not useful to you right now.
You may keep this sphere of protection with you at all times if you wish.
All you need to do is remember that it's there.
Now return your attention to the earth.
Thank the helpful and loving energies of spirit,
Even as you know that you are truly a part of these energies as they are a part of you.
Thank the land as you return your awareness to the earth and the room around you.
Thank your body,
Your mind,
Your breath,
Your chakras,
Our lineage of teachers,
All for being with you in this meditation.
Take your time to gently arouse yourself from the meditative space,
Perhaps with some movement,
Some deep breaths,
And have a wonderful rest of your day.
Thank you for listening.
