Hello there,

Welcome to Imagination Meditation,

I'm your host,

Diana.

Today we'll be seeking quiet solitude on a cool summer's night under the stars.

Now let's get comfortable.

Sit back in your seat,

At the same time sitting tall with a straight back,

So you're slightly alert but still relaxed.

Feel your hands on your lap or by your sides,

Rest your feet gently on the floor.

Take a nice breath in,

And sigh it out.

Now close your eyes.

Let's take a deep breath in,

And then let the air go.

Again,

Deep inhale,

And then release the air on the exhale.

Now let's concentrate a bit more on our breath.

When you inhale,

Count to four while breathing in,

Then hold the breath for four counts,

And then release it over four more counts.

Let's try it.

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold the breath,

Two,

Three,

Four.

And exhale,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Again,

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold it,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Let it go,

Two,

Three,

Four.

You can do this one more time on your own.

Now think about what it feels like breathing the air in and back out.

Notice the feel of the air as it enters your nose,

As it winds its way down your throat,

Down to your lungs.

Fresh,

Cool air is entering your body,

Bringing with it nourishment,

Ease,

Peace.

Imagine the air is imbued with a powerful magic.

It gives life,

It provides calm,

It nurtures your lungs and caresses them with a soft touch.

And at the same time that this life-giving force is lifting your body,

Lifting your spirit,

The used air is expelled.

This stale air is fully released and washed away from your body.

Any negative thoughts,

Anything that's weighing on you,

Is completely washed away from your system.

The exhale sweeps it out and away from you,

Just as if it's being swept away down a stream.

Where it can't come back,

It can only leave.

And with each breath in,

The nurturing,

Caressing touch of fresh,

Cool air brings nourishment and calm.

And with each breath out,

Feel free to let go of any unrest,

Any unease,

Any tension,

And replace it with the breath of life coming in.

I invite you to continue this exercise of breathing in the positive and letting go of the negative.

So now,

Let's get ready for our journey to another place where we're safe from any worries of the outside world.

Come with me.

We emerged a step foot in a vast meadow under a night sky.

The air feels breezy and lightly cool.

It's warm enough that no sweater is needed,

But the air is fresh.

A light wind brushes softly against our skin.

We can feel the coolness of the air now that the sun has fully set.

The air smells just a bit damp,

Fresh,

Like rain has come through and passed,

And the air is clean and temperate.

There's a cushion of grass under our feet,

And a vast expanse in front of us with no other soul in sight.

Complete solitude.

The meadow disappears in the distance as the dark night envelops it.

We look up,

And we see an inky black sky filled to bursting with glittering pinpricks of light.

Every which way we turn our head,

The sky keeps going,

Limitless.

Not a cloud obstructs the heavens.

Some stars appear brighter than others,

Big and bold.

Others we have to squint to see.

Some seem to actually twinkle,

As their light glitters like a planet is circling it,

Blocking it from our view,

But for an instant.

Each time,

Just for a millisecond,

So it looks like the star is twinkling.

Some may be a slightly different shade of color than others.

You see one point of light that has a reddish hue,

Another has a bit of yellow.

No worries about what this might mean or reference,

Rather,

Just observe the colors.

See that they're there.

No need to react to the colors,

No need to think about the colors.

Just observe the colors.

Notice them.

See them.

Notice the glittering of the lights.

Notice the vastness of the sky,

How the stars extend all the way to the horizon.

You look left and you see where the sky meets the grass,

Then you move your gaze in an arc upward till you're looking straight above you,

At that world that's beyond our atmosphere,

Beyond our world,

Beyond our earth.

And you continue to move your gaze in that arc till you're looking to your right,

Back at the horizon.

The sky will always be there,

The horizon will always be there,

The earth beneath your feet will always be there.

You turn around and you see a hammock set up in front of you,

It beckons you to slowly fall into its embrace.

You sit on one side of the hammock and center yourself in the cloth,

Then you swing one leg up and then the other,

So you're sitting up in the middle of the hammock,

Then you lie back against the fabric,

Letting it support you,

Letting it hug you.

You softly feel the cloth with your fingers.

Is it soft?

Is it worn from the weather over time?

Does it give when you push gently against it?

Is it perhaps a bit rough,

Like a canvas?

Concentrate on the feel of the hammock against your fingers and hands.

Now just feel yourself settling into the hammock,

Like a cocoon,

Feeling it wrapped around you.

Feel it supporting you over the earth,

Like you're weightless,

Suspended.

And snuggle into its fabric,

Curled around your back,

Your shoulders,

Your legs and feet.

Feel it holding you up,

Supporting you.

Feel its strength,

Supporting you.

Feel the hammock gently swaying with you in it.

Gaze upward,

No need to stretch your neck.

You can see the stars straight above you,

With no twisting or other effort.

They're just there.

Notice the blackness of the sky behind the stars,

Contrasting with the light.

Notice the light touch of the breeze,

Caressing your skin,

Softly cooling.

Enjoy this solitude.

And now it's time to come back to present day.

We stir and we find ourselves back into our room,

Back in our seat.

Stretch your back and chest nice and tall,

Lengthening the spine.

Stretch your feet and toes out in front of you,

Extend your legs,

Reach your toes out in front of you and then release them back down to the ground.

Stretch your arms to the sides,

Wiggle your fingers,

Reach your fingers as far as you can and release your arms back down to your sides.

Take a deep breath in and exhale it out.

Another long breath in and big sigh back out.

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

I hope you enjoyed this imagination meditation under the stars.

You can always come back to this wonderful solitude whenever you need it.

Come back and visit me again for another meditation experience soon.

Until next time.
