Welcome to your practice.
Make sure that you are warm comfortable and ready to begin.
This is a yoga nidra for you to practice with your pet to bond and connect together as you rest.
If your animal friend is there with you,
Make sure that they are comfortable too.
You might like to have your pet sitting on you or to have your hand resting on them.
And if you don't have a pet or if your animal friend isn't there with you right now,
That's okay.
You can visualize yourself connecting with your animal wherever they are.
And you can also visualize a spirit animal if that feels right for you today.
Once you have made yourself comfortable,
Close your eyes and feel into the feeling of your body resting into the surface beneath you.
Notice how with every breath your body becomes more relaxed.
Every exhalation encourages tension to release from the muscles.
With every exhalation the whole of your body surrenders into the surface that's holding you.
And send your awareness out to the sounds that you can hear in your environment.
And just notice those sounds.
Acknowledge that they are there.
And know that they are not going to disturb you as you rest.
But that they can only serve to enhance your experience of relaxation.
And now see you and your animal surrounded in a colourful bubble of light.
In a soothing colour that brings you a feeling of peace and wellness.
See that bubble of light safely cocooning you and your animal.
Providing a safe space for you to rest together.
See that safe protective light intensifying all around the both of you.
Safely holding you for your practice.
We're going to take a journey around the body's energy centres.
Bring the awareness to rest at each point as it's named.
Beginning at the eyebrow centre.
Rest the awareness at the eyebrow centre.
And the throat.
Rest the awareness at the throat.
The right shoulder.
The right elbow.
The right wrist.
The tip of the right hand thumb.
The tip of the right index finger.
The tip of the right middle finger.
The tip of the ring finger.
The tip of the little finger.
The right wrist.
The right elbow.
The right shoulder.
The throat.
The left shoulder.
The left elbow.
The left wrist.
The tip of the left hand thumb.
The tip of the left index finger.
The tip of the left middle finger.
The tip of the ring finger.
The tip of the little finger.
The left wrist.
The left elbow.
The left shoulder.
The throat.
The centre of the chest.
The left side of the chest.
The centre of the chest.
The right side of the chest.
The centre of the chest.
The navel.
The lower abdomen.
The right hip.
The right knee.
The right ankle.
The right big toe.
The second toe.
The third toe.
The fourth toe.
The fifth toe.
The right ankle.
The right knee.
The right hip.
The lower abdomen.
The left hip.
The left knee.
The left ankle.
The left big toe.
The second toe.
The third toe.
The fourth toe.
The fifth toe.
The left ankle.
The left knee.
The left hip.
The lower abdomen.
The navel.
The centre of the chest.
The throat.
The eyebrow centre.
The top of the head.
Now bring your awareness to your animal.
Become aware of your animal's energy centres.
Rest your awareness on your animal's eyebrow centre.
Scan your awareness over your animal's resting body.
Become aware that your animal has energy centres all over their body.
Acknowledge that those points are there.
Keeping your awareness on your resting animal.
Notice how their body gently moves with their breath.
The chest gently expands and contracts as they breathe in and out.
Bring the awareness to your own breath.
Watch your chest rising and falling as the breath flows in and out of your body.
And become aware of the natural synchronicity between your breath and your animal's breath.
The breath flows in and out of both of your bodies as you breathe together.
Bring your awareness to the eyebrow centre.
Rest at your eyebrow centre.
Observe what is happening at the eyebrow centre.
Notice any shapes,
Colours,
Patterns or just darkness.
Become aware of your animal's eyebrow centre.
Notice your animal's eyebrow centre.
Notice the colour and the shape.
Now see a connection forming between your eyebrow centre and your animal's eyebrow centre.
A connection is made and a space for communication opens.
Float your awareness down to your heart.
Rest at the heart centre.
Feel into the quiet peace of the heart centre.
Become aware of your animal's heart centre.
And see a connection forming between your heart centre and your animal's heart centre.
The connection is made and a space to rest together opens.
And before you complete the practice,
If there is anything else that you wish to communicate with your animal,
Take a moment to make that communication now.
Allow the connection and communication to happen however it happens.
And take a moment to thank your animal for their presence and for practicing with you today.
And now very slowly begin to turn your awareness back outwards.
Acknowledge the sounds that are present in your environment around you.
Without getting too involved,
Just notice that the sounds are there.
Feel into the feeling of your body resting into the surface beneath you.
The feeling of your breath flowing in and out.
And slowly begin to make some movements with your fingers and your toes.
With your hands and your feet.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Your practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
Thank you for listening.
