Most people tie self-esteem and self-worth to external sources like wealth, relationships, and recognition. Most of us will set out in pursuit of worldly riches and reputations. And yet, when we take that path, over time many have found a creeping disillusion at the shallowness of such a way of life. This practice is a powerful way to develop your self of self-worth and celebrate your uniqueness, beauty, and value.

Our self-esteem underpins all our actions.

The vast majority of us are not even aware of how this influences absolutely everything we think about,

How we feel about ourselves,

The choices we make,

And what we do.

Strands of self-respect,

Self-worth,

Self-value is the foundation and it can be seen in all areas of who we are.

When you feel a lack of,

It will undermine your ability to act and interact positively and proactively.

It has an ability to sabotage your calm and focus.

And no matter what you seem to be doing or how much you seem to be getting,

You never seem to be content with yourself if you don't have self-respect.

So what are the reasons that self-respect is undermined?

How do we sabotage ourselves?

First if you base your self-respect on the reputation in the eyes of others,

You will not have self-esteem.

Second,

If you base your confidence on your skills and abilities,

Then you will not have self-esteem because there's always going to be somebody better,

Somebody more perfect.

On your pursuit for perfection,

You have a low sense of self-confidence.

Third if you base your self-worth on your possessions,

You will not have self-esteem.

If anything,

Possessions come and go,

No matter how much you try,

You can never truly own them.

And fourth,

If you base your self-esteem on your appearance,

You will not have real self-worth.

Again,

One of the constants in life is change.

And our appearance is constantly going to change.

As you age,

There's a way to do it gracefully.

Or there can be a clamoring for holding on to an image or to create an image that you see in the Instagram,

Movies,

Magazines,

Etc.

Then that will be a source of constant misery.

Self-esteem is the knowledge and consistent awareness of your own uniqueness,

Beauty and value.

I say that again,

Self-esteem is the knowledge and consistent awareness of your own uniqueness,

Beauty and value.

You are unique,

But when you're comparing yourself,

What you're really saying is that you would like to be like them,

Live like them,

And have a position that they find themselves in.

And what you're really doing is in that moment,

You're forgetting about how absolutely unique you are.

Remember,

You can only be yourself.

There is no one the same as you.

You can never be the same as someone else.

So don't compare yourself with anyone.

Realize and remember that you are a one-off.

You are beautiful.

But the marketing,

The multi-trillion dollar industry out there makes you think that you too can look like them,

Whoever that them is that you see in the magazines or the movies.

So you can look like them and you should look like them.

And you can do that only if you buy this little bottle and splash it all over you.

It'll make you be beautiful,

Successful,

Maybe even happy.

So if you fall for it,

Then you're going to go buy that bottle,

Splash it all over you,

And then wonder why nothing changed.

True beauty really lies within.

Never ever base your beauty on your looks,

But instead transfer it to your character.

The third source of your self-worth is your value.

How do you know your own value?

Most of us find out our value from others in the context of our relationships.

You might have heard things like,

Well done,

Great job.

Thank you so much.

You were great.

That gives you an inkling of your sense of value in life.

But sometimes even as you're hearing this voice from others,

There might be a little voice in your own head that may pop up and say,

Nah,

That was a fluke.

It was just luck.

It won't last.

No,

That's a sign of self-sabotage.

That's a sign that you're undermining your own value.

So then what do you do?

What do you do when your value is in the context of relationships?

Neither crave nor reject positive feedback.

When it comes,

Accept it,

Affirm it,

Express appreciation and move on.

To know what you are and what you have within you,

You need to make the journey within to discover that which you already have within your heart,

Within your consciousness.

And very likely you'll find that you are love.

You are at peace.

And joy is natural.

This is not just theory.

Theory doesn't make you powerful.

Theory doesn't give you self-confidence.

You need to see it.

You need to feel it.

And when you see it and you feel it for yourself,

You'll realize three things.

One that you no longer need to search for what you already have.

And therefore there's no longer any sense of failure in not finding that which you're searching for.

Second,

When you use these three inner resources of peace,

Love and joy,

That becomes the basis of how you create your life,

Which then becomes the basis of your sense of self-worth,

Your value and therefore your self-esteem.

And the third is that no one can ever take away these precious gifts from life,

From your life.

These are yours truly.

And as you begin to know this about yourself,

You will learn to live as a source of peace,

Power and joy.

To become an inspiration for others.

And as you begin to live with these values,

You're further retraining your sense of self-esteem.

And before you know it,

Your confidence in yourself is unshakable and unbreakable.

Now,

I want you to go ahead and close your eyes if you haven't already.

And visualize with your third eye a beautiful star shining above you.

This beautiful being emanates a radiance of love,

Peace and power.

And this light comes down upon you,

This beautiful healing energy.

Now imagine through the crown of your head a yellow light enters into your body.

This benevolent being emanates a healing yellow energy which flows in through the crown of your head,

Down through the core channel of your body,

Through the head,

Through the neck,

Into the torso,

Down the spine,

Through the belly,

Into the pelvic floor,

Down through your legs,

All the way from the knees,

Through the ankles,

To the feet and toes.

Now,

This light comes down from the shoulders and through both the arms,

Flowing through the upper arm,

Elbows,

Forearms,

Wrist,

Palms and fingers.

Now,

Your entire body space is filled with this healing yellow light.

Now,

Bring your attention to your solar plexus.

This is the area of the soft tissue just below the rib cage.

Visualize a ball of yellow light at your solar plexus.

And then I'm going to speak some affirmations.

And as I speak these affirmations,

I want you to feel that pulsation of these words spread throughout your body.

Let every fiber of your body feel these words.

I am a valuable human being.

I appreciate who I am.

I value myself as a person.

My future is bright.

I deserve to relax and rejuvenate.

I deserve to be happy.

I embrace my happiness.

I am enjoying this present moment.

My future is positive.

Let these words be felt in every fiber of your body.

I am a valuable human being.

I appreciate who I am.

I am a valuable human being.

I appreciate who I am.

I want you to please bring your palms together at your heart center in prayer position and acknowledge how you feel right now.

And once you acknowledge how you feel,

Go ahead and take a moment of gratitude.

One thing that you can be extremely grateful for at this moment.

And then go ahead and set an intention for this coming week from this place of self-worth,

Knowing your beauty,

Your uniqueness,

And your value.

How are you going to show up?

How are you going to embody these values?

And I want you to go ahead and rub your palms against each other,

Kindling some prana or chi.

The palms are an energy vortex,

And as you rub them,

You're kindling a nice warm ball of this chi.

And then when you're ready,

When you feel that nice warm ball,

I want you to cup both your eyes,

One with each palm,

And bless yourself.

May I be joyous.

May I be worry free.

May I be at peace.

Bring your palms back together in prayer position at your heart center.

And send out a blessing from your heart to someone,

Some people or some place that could really use it right now.

Imagine a beam of light emerging from your heart and shooting towards that person,

People or place,

Giving them just what they need.

So they may also know the love,

The beauty,

And the uniqueness of their being.

They may also know a worry free,

Peaceful,

Loving self.

And just whenever you're ready,

At your own pace,

I invite you to gently open your eyes.

And when you're ready,

I invite you to go ahead and share how you feel right now in one word in the comments.

Thank you for joining me in this practice.

One word: ready. Ready for the day, ready for the known and unknown, ready for the week, ready for life. What a wonderful way to start the day. I have a light and affirmations to return to through the day during any times of self doubt or self sabotaging. This is not only a peaceful, recharging meditation, it is another type of tool to carry around in the toolbox of your mind and emotions for balance. Many thanks๐Ÿ™โค๐Ÿ™
