Empower your New Year to start with our meditation track. Set intentions mindfully, cultivating a positive mindset for a purposeful and transformative journey ahead. I intend it to be both an introduction to the novice meditator while inviting those with experience to sharpen their skills and learn creative new techniques. The goal of this challenge is to make a commitment to yourself for 21 days, with hopes of it turning into a consistent habit post-challenge. My purpose in creating this series and making it highly accessible is to generate collective momentum to intentionally release the massive challenges of the past two years so we might enter the New Year with clarity of mind and a commitment to the simple daily practices that support us to show up as our highest selves.

Namaste dear one,

Welcome to this guided meditation to help you set intentions for the new year.

My name is Jay Chodhagam.

If you do this practice for 21 days in a row,

It will have a significant impact on your quality of life in the new year.

It takes 21 days to make any practice a habit.

The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all.

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go,

They merely determine where you start.

The secret to change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old,

But on building the new.

In each moment of this day,

Life will ask you about your priorities and with the choices you make,

The big ones and the small ones,

Your answer will be clear.

You can think and dream and speculate about what might and might not hold real meaning to you.

Yet,

The truth of who you are will be without a doubt shown by the choices of what you do.

Look around at the life you've created for yourself and you'll clearly see your true priorities.

If you wish to adjust those priorities,

You can reliably do so by adjusting the actions that support them.

By the way you choose to give your time,

Attention and effort,

You are setting your priorities and those priorities will greatly influence the way your life proceeds.

So choose to set them as high as you can imagine.

As we dive into this practice,

For the next 15 minutes or so,

Make sure that there are no distractions of any kind.

Become very comfortable.

You could be doing this practice either seated or lying down.

Make sure there's a nice alignment between your head,

Your neck and your spine,

Relaxing your forehead,

Dropping your jaw,

Relaxing the shoulders,

Making the belly soft and placing your arms somewhere comfortable either on your lap,

On your knees or laying them next to your body.

And go ahead and close your eyes or downshift your gaze if you haven't already done so.

Take a nice,

Slow,

Deep breath in,

Deeper than you've taken all day so far and gently exhale it out through the mouth.

Another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in and feel all the air leave your body as you exhale.

Now take another deep breath,

Even deeper than the ones before and see if you can notice at the top of the breath,

The stillness that exists,

A pause for a moment and exhale it all out.

Now at the bottom of the breath,

See if you can hold that for a moment and notice the stillness there is before you go ahead and take the next inhale.

Breathing this way,

Noticing the gradual growth of stillness,

Allowing it to ground you into the present moment,

Your breath will begin to calm your energy and give yourself permission right now to let go of everything else you were consumed by before we started.

This is your moment to manifest a new beginning.

Give your mind permission right now to rest by taking in slow,

Deep breaths and as you do so,

Feel the journey of your breath through your entire body,

Breathing in and out of every muscle and every cell from the top of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes and as you do so,

Noticing any places in your body where you are holding stress or anxiety,

Noticing any areas that might be sore or tight and breathe into these areas of tightness,

Stress or soreness,

Breathing into those spaces where you are holding any tension and allowing the breath to release it,

Giving it permission for the tension to be let go.

Now return your breath to its normal rhythm while keeping your focus on it.

Breath is your anchor as you completely relax.

Now we will begin to set some intentions for the kind of year we wish to manifest.

First I will speak some words of intentions and then give you space to create your own.

So let us begin.

I make plans but remain flexible and open to the surprises that life has in store for me.

I know when to say yes and when to say no.

I cultivate patience and by doing so I also cultivate self-confidence.

I welcome the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone.

I do not let myself be guided by fear.

I love myself unconditionally because it is essential to my happiness.

I love the person that I am and I do not need other people's approval to love myself fully.

I am going to drink water,

Eat fruits and vegetables,

Walk,

Take the stairs and exercise.

I nourish my body with love.

I give everywhere I go even if it's only a smile,

A compliment and my full attention.

Listening is the best gift I can give to those around me.

I try to be impeccable with my words and only speak to spread positivity.

It is counterproductive to my happiness to speak against myself or against others.

Now set your own intention,

Something you really wish for you this year.

Really allow that intention to settle in for you now and allow those feelings of success in your intention to come up for you right now.

Now go ahead and drop this practice and just experience the stillness of the present moment.

Soon you will hear my voice again.

Now please bring your palms together in prayer position at your heart center.

Go ahead and rub your palms briskly against each other kindling prana or life force.

The palms are an energy vortex and when you rub them briskly,

You're activating this energy center.

Once you feel a nice warm ball of energy weld up between your palms,

Go ahead and cup your eyes one with each palm and bless yourself.

I am a star of success.

I am being guided.

I am loved and all is well.

Please bring your palms back together in prayer position at your heart center and resolve to keep happy and your joy in you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.

Take a leap of faith and begin this wondrous new year by believing in yourself.
