Prologue Amelia Rose and the Rainbow Adventure Dear listeners,

Amelia Rose had a secret,

One that she didn't share with anyone,

And her secret was that each night in her dreams she travelled to Leoland and lived among the friendly,

Funny,

Cheeky and brave Leobots.

One night,

Amelia Rose was in her Leoland dream and saw a rainbow.

Rainbows just made her smile.

They were so pretty.

Where do they come from?

She wondered.

I know,

She said.

The Leobots can solve this mystery for me.

They were to go on an adventure,

Out into the world,

And find out where rainbows begin.

And this is the first of Amelia Rose's Adventures with the Leobots and is based on the key understandings of the Dao.

Number one,

Connection between us all and also with everything.

And number two,

Balance.

When one part is out of balance,

All are affected.

And number three,

Flow,

Non-resistance to what is going on around you.

Three principles that our children seem to understand intuitively.

And with love,

Dr.

Deborah,

Amelia Rose's Grandma.

Amelia Rose and the Rainbow Adventure Once upon a time,

There lived a special girl with dark hair,

Sparkly eyes,

And a very intelligent but cheeky chin.

And her name was Amelia Rose.

Now,

Amelia Rose lived with her mummy and daddy,

Who she loved with all her heart,

And her nanny Susan,

Who is one of her favorite people in the world.

Each day was very busy for Amelia Rose,

What with going to the park,

Being outside for walks,

And playing with her friends.

Not to mention cuddles with her cat Bert,

Visits with her favorite cousin Rowan,

And eating all the delicious and healthy meals that were set in front of her.

Amelia Rose loved vegetables.

Imagine that.

Amelia Rose had a secret,

One that she didn't share with anyone,

Not mummy,

Not daddy,

Nor Susan.

And her secret was that each night in her dreams,

She transformed into a mystic with magical powers.

In her sleep,

She traveled to Leoland and lived among the Leobots.

Every night,

Amelia Rose became the mystic of Leoland amongst these lovely small creatures.

And Leoland is a place of carousels and roller coasters.

It's a wonderful place where the treats and the toys in all the stores are free.

Everybody's a friend,

It's always warm and sunny,

And most of the time is playtime.

With her magic,

Amelia Rose had given each of her Leobots mystical magical powers,

And they helped her solve mysteries.

The Leobots woke up when she dreamed in her sleep,

And they could travel anywhere as they knew how to hover.

They sometimes made her head ache as they always tried to speak at once in their high squeaky voices.

Amelia Rose often had to put her hands on her hips and say one at a time,

I can't hear a word you're saying.

She thought of them as her very own Leobots and loved them very much.

Their magical powers were wonderful.

Puff Leobot was like the wind.

He could be a breeze,

Gentle and always moving.

Puff could blow things along or blow things away.

Puff was confident that he could take the Leobots anywhere they needed to go.

They simply needed to link up and he would blow them in the right direction.

And Glow Leobot was like a fire.

He could be a lovely warm campfire keeping the dark away.

Glow said that they would never be cold at night as he could make a fire anywhere.

He could also burn things down if obstacles got in their way.

Terra Leobot was like Mother Earth.

She could talk to animals,

Plants and trees.

She understood that the plants and animals had knowledge and wisdom,

And she loved spending time learning from them.

Sometimes the animals,

Plants and trees told her secrets that helped the Leobots solve their mysteries.

Jew Leobot was like a lake.

She could easily become invisible and she loved doing it just for fun.

Being invisible was a handy magical power as it allowed Jew and the Leobots to move around very,

Very quietly and quite undetected.

Sometimes the Leobots wanted to be undiscovered as they solved their mysteries.

Star Leobot was like the heavens.

She could soar high into the sky and see everything and everywhere.

Although all of the Leobots could hover,

Star was able to take them up higher and higher and higher and give everything perspective.

Star loved being out at night when she could see the beautiful,

Sparkly night sky.

Aqua Leobot was like water.

She could create rivers to carry the Leobots along and wash things clean.

Aqua made traveling lots of fun for the Leobots.

It was like being on a waterslide.

Aqua even created waterfalls that the Leobots could use to go down steep inclines.

Sometimes when she got excited,

Aqua created water quite by accident,

But no one minded at all.

Peak Leobot was like a mountain.

He was so strong,

So steady,

So wise,

So smart and so sensible.

When the Leobots connected to Peak,

He joined them together to become big and solid.

Peak understood that together they were stronger,

And he just made them feel significant and substantial.

Roar Leobot was like thunder.

He could shout so loud.

Roar was very powerful,

And he could release things using his big sound.

Mostly it was powerful and helpful.

Roar gave them freedom with his big sound that echoed,

And the Leobots were given free range to adjust to situations and solve their mysteries.

Amelia Rose was in her Leoland dream,

Skipping down by the river,

When she looked up into the sky and saw a rainbow.

Rainbows just made her smile.

They were so pretty.

Sometimes she could see only a small piece of the rainbow,

And sometimes she could make out the perfect arch.

Where do they come from?

She wondered.

She sat down with her back to her favorite tree,

A wrinkle on her forehead,

And pondered the mystery.

I know,

She said,

The Leobots can solve this mystery for me.

Amelia Rose wanted to know where rainbows began,

So there was nothing for it.

She would engage the Leobots.

They were to go on an adventure out into the world and find out where rainbows began.

Amelia Rose invited the Leobots to her home for tea.

She decided to use her best tea set,

The one she served tea in for mummy and nanny.

She even baked some of their special cookies.

Leobots are very fussy,

And they only eat lemon chocolate cookies.

After tea,

She asked the Leobots to help her solve their very first mystery.

The Leobots were very excited.

There were so many questions to ask,

And they all spoke at once.

Puff said,

Let's talk about the problem and come up with a solution together.

And Glow said,

Let me shoot out flames immediately and get some feedback.

And Tara said,

I need to go to the forest to talk with the animals.

Dew went really still and almost disappeared.

And Star wanted to fly so high that she could see the whole world.

Aqua actually started a small creek flowing by mistake.

And Peak said,

Let's join together and be strong.

And Ror was so happy he let a whole bunch of thunderclaps escape.

Amelia Rose was used to the noise,

And she settled down to wait until the excitement had worn off.

She poured everyone another cup of tea,

And it wasn't long until she was able to actually hear what the Leobots were saying.

The Leobots agreed to set out the next day after a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast to solve their first mystery.

They all settled on bringing along their magic glasses just in case they needed them to see the rainbows.

Amelia Rose and the Leobots discussed the fact that most rainbows are found near mountains and oceans,

And upon much discussion they chose to head towards the mountains.

The Leobots could be seen hovering in a straight row heading south just after sunrise the next morning.

They hadn't forgotten their magic glasses,

And they were all chattering at once.

Everybody talking excitedly and no one listening.

It was a perfect start to their day.

Buzz,

Buzz,

Buzz went the sound of their hover.

Chat,

Chat,

Chat went the sound of their voices.

They knew where they were going,

Heading south,

But on the way to the mountains they had to pass through no land.

They weren't looking forward to going through no land,

As this was a land of grown-ups only.

There were no treats,

No laughter,

No fun,

No pets,

No sweet dreams,

No hugs,

No kisses.

Only lots of headaches,

Very bossy instructions,

And lots of very grumpy grown-ups.

And worst of all,

Everyone always had to go to bed early and eat dinner at four o'clock in no land.

At the gate to no land,

The Leobots politely asked if they could pass through.

They explained to the very old wrinkly person at the gate that they were on an adventure to discover where rainbows started and needed to get to the mountains.

Of course,

The first thing that they were told was no.

The second thing that they were told was to brush their teeth.

They were asked,

Isn't it past your bedtime?

And then,

Have you washed your face?

The Leobots looked at each other in horror.

They moved back from the no lander,

Hovered together,

And said,

We'll have to use our special powers if we're going to overcome the no's.

Star said,

Let's fly up a bit higher in the sky.

The no landers have poor eyesight and won't be able to see us if we go up high enough.

All agreed that this was a great idea,

And up they went.

The only trouble is that they went up so high that they got mixed up in a flock of geese flying in a perfect V.

Now,

I don't know if you know this,

But geese are very noisy.

And once they get flying,

They won't stop for anything.

Not even Leobots going to solve a very special mystery.

The Leobots politely asked the geese to make way for them.

Hey,

Mr.

Goose,

Star Leobot said to the leader,

Could you make a bit of room for us to fly through?

Honk,

Honk,

Honk,

Said over 50 geese.

If the Leobots hadn't been concentrating on flying themselves,

They would have covered their ears.

The noise was deafening.

You get out of our way,

Said Mr.

Goose.

We're in a hurry.

Anyway,

My family of geese behind me won't be able to hear you.

Can't you hear?

They're a noisy bunch.

There was only one thing for it.

Raw Leobot had to use his magical powers,

His noise.

The clap of thunder he released was so loud that it caused the geese to swerve to the right.

When the thunder echoed back,

The geese swerved to the left and then carried on as if nothing had happened.

But a gap had been created and our letter of Leobots found a way forward.

Raw's thunder clap was so loud and it did cross his mind that he might have woken them up in no land because they all went to bed so early.

Oh,

Well,

I'm powerful and noisy,

Thought Raw,

But I'm also very helpful.

The Leobots got to the mountains just as it was getting dark,

Which was very exciting for Star because she just loved to see the starry sky.

They were near the top of a mountain so high that it was a bit chilly.

They found a sheltered place where they could all stop and rest together.

They all snuggled up to Glow,

Who kept them warm and provided a soft glowing light for their night in the mountains.

The next morning the birds woke them up with all their chirping.

What a brouhaha!

So much noise.

The other Leobots groaned and turned over,

Trying to stay asleep.

But Tara kept her eyes closed and eavesdropped on what they were saying.

As you know,

She could talk with the birds,

The animals and trees,

But sometimes she just liked to stay quiet and listen to their secrets.

Well,

Can you imagine?

The birds were talking about rainbows.

What were the chances of that?

Tara listened carefully.

Did you see the rainbows yesterday?

Asked bird number one.

Weren't they beautiful?

I saw something I've never seen before,

Said bird number two.

Did you know that this is where rainbows come from?

I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes,

Exclaimed bird number one.

Shh!

Said bird number three.

They're trying to sleep here.

Fine,

Said bird number two.

I'm just saying that I never knew that about rainbows and children.

Tara could hardly breathe.

She had a clue to their mystery.

She knew that the birds had seen rainbows and that somehow rainbows were linked to children.

She could hardly wait to share this with the other Leobots.

Once all the Leobots were properly awake and Tara had shared her news,

They realized that they needed to get down the very steep mountain.

Human land,

Where the children lived,

Was just at the base of the mountain.

I will create a waterfall for all of us to flow down,

Said Aqua.

She allowed the water to start streaming and with the other Leobots behind her,

They all floated down on Aqua's waterfall.

It was so much fun,

Just like being at a water park.

Whoop,

Whoop!

From the base of the mountain,

They could see the border to human land a bit further down the road.

A very proper soldier was marching up and down,

Looking very bossy.

Oh dear,

I don't think he'll care about our mystery,

Said Aqua.

We brought our magic glasses but forgot our passports.

That person doesn't look like he'll be very happy to listen to our story and give us a free pass into human land.

Not to worry,

Jew said.

I will use my invisible magic powers and we can move right under his nose.

Gather round,

Leobots.

Remember to stay very quiet and let slip through.

As quiet as a mouse,

As if they were all on tippy toes,

The litter of Leobots lined up behind you and moved down the road into human land.

Now we need to find children,

Said Puff,

And we need to find them quickly.

I will speed things up by puffing us along.

Puff blew them along as fast as the speed of light.

They went this way and that way,

Up roads and down pathways,

North and south and east and west.

No children.

Goodness,

Said Puff.

I don't know how much longer I can keep going.

I might run out of puff.

Oh dear,

He said,

Quite out of breath.

This isn't helping solve our mystery.

By this time the Leobots were getting a little worried.

They were feeling a little windblown and rushed,

And their foreheads were starting to crease with little frowns.

One or two of them may even have felt like crying.

No one could think clearly.

Where were the children?

Where did rainbows begin?

This was their first mystery.

They had traveled a long way.

Surely they could solve it.

Not to worry,

Said Peek.

We need to do this together.

Leobots all gather around and connect,

And we will grow stronger and wiser and figure this all out.

One,

Two,

Three,

Together.

The Leobots all managed to arrange themselves around Peek.

Actually,

They arranged themselves on top of Peek.

It was fun,

And together they just felt bigger and a lot calmer.

This is good,

Said Peek,

Even though he wasn't sure why the Leobots had decided to sit on his head.

It's just easier to find solutions when we connect and support each other.

Let's do this,

Said Peek.

It will help us calm down.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Breathe in and breathe out.

The Leobots relaxed and felt a lot better,

And when they opened their eyes they could see clearly,

And they all said together,

There they are.

The children were just over a rise near a brook playing in shallow water.

The Leobots disconnected and together hovered their way towards where the children were playing.

They stopped a little way off,

Hiding behind a bush,

And peeked out at the children.

They saw happy faces and lots of playing,

But no rainbows.

Not one rainbow,

Not even a piece of a rainbow.

What were those birds talking about?

Maybe they're different children,

Said Star.

Well,

Perhaps they're tired and need a nap,

Said Dew.

They could be hungry,

Said Peek.

Whatever these children were,

There were definitely no rainbows to be seen anywhere near them or around them.

Nothing,

Nada,

Niente.

Psst,

Said the Bush.

Psst.

No one else could hear anything,

But Tara said,

Quiet,

Everyone.

She could be very bossy indeed.

Quiet,

The Bush is trying to talk.

You forgot your glasses,

Said the Bush.

You have magic glasses with you.

Put them on.

Glow was the first one to get his glasses on.

Wow,

He said.

Quick,

Everyone.

Get your magic glasses on.

It is so beautiful.

One by one,

The Leobots stared at the children through their glasses.

A hush fell over the litter of Leobots as they contemplated exactly what they were seeing.

They really couldn't believe their eyes.

Each child had a rainbow coming out of their heart.

Every single child had a perfect,

Beautifully colored rainbow arching up into the sky.

The Leobots were stunned into silence,

And that was an unusual occurrence for them.

They weren't silent very often.

Most of the time they had too much to say.

Puff said excitedly,

We must go back to Emilia Rose and tell her where rainbows come from.

I will blow us back to Leoland.

And that's how the Leobots used their magic powers to solve the mystery of where rainbows come from.

Emilia Rose,

The mystic of Leoland,

And her Leobots now knew that rainbows come from the hearts of every single child in the world,

Even you.

The End.
