Hi,
This is Joni with Healthy Body Peaceful Soul and I'm here to offer you a very brief practice,
One that will be easy for you to remember and practice anytime that you need to focus and relax.
First of all,
Stop what you're doing and free your hands so that they can rest palms down on your legs.
Uncross your legs so that both feet are flat on the floor.
Allow your eyes to close or just turn your gaze downward toward the floor.
Take a deep inhale and exhale with a sigh.
Now focus on the contact between your feet and the floor.
Imagine your feet are heavy or even that they could root down into the earth from that contact.
Now feel your hands resting on your legs.
Feel that plane of contact between your hands and the legs.
The hands might feel heavy.
You might notice warmth from that touch.
Again focus on the feet anchored to the floor.
And now the hands resting heavy on the legs.
Feet on the floor.
Hands on the legs.
Take another deep inhale.
Exhale with a sigh.
And just for a moment let your breath be natural and feel the flow of air in and out at the nose and maybe feeling some movement to the belly.
When you feel ready you can open your eyes or look up and go about the rest of your day with hopefully a little bit more focus and a little bit more of a sense of calm.
