This is a brief practice of intention-setting. You'll learn how to find a word of intention and how to use it in a meditation or as a reminder in your daily life. Intentions can be powerful mental tools to help you find strength, courage, patience -- whatever you need -- it's a reminder that you have it within you. You just have to remember and remind yourself.

Hi there,

I'm Joni and welcome to this brief practice of intention setting.

Setting an intention can be such an important thing to do.

It can be a guide for you,

For your week,

For your month,

For your year.

And sometimes it might be challenging to find an intention.

Where do you get started?

I invite you to think about what you need.

To ask yourself right now,

How do I feel?

And what do I need?

Personally,

I think creating an intention is best in just one word.

I'm going to offer you some words of intention.

And if one speaks to you,

Let that be your word.

And if another word comes to mind,

Then choose that.

Patience.

Trust.

Gratitude.

Peace.

Focus.

Forgiveness.

Perseverance.

Lightness.

Acceptance.

What is it that you need?

Did one of those words speak to you?

If not,

What word comes to your mind when you ask yourself,

What might help me get through this time?

Take a deep inhale and exhale with a sigh.

Allow your eyes to close and just pick one of those words.

Or if a word came to you,

And just silently repeat that word to yourself.

You might even say to yourself,

I am.

And then whatever your word of intention is.

Let that word fall in there.

I am.

We all have so many qualities within us.

And reminding yourself that this quality too is within you.

You just have to bring it forward.

And so breathe and repeat that word to yourself for a few minutes every day.

And anytime you find yourself distracted.

Inhale I am.

Exhale your word of intention,

Peace,

Patience,

Strength.

I hope this is helpful.

Take care.
