Welcome to your Starlight Meditation.
Find a comfortable position.
You may lie on your back or be seated.
If you're seated,
You can either sit cross-legs in easy pose or you can sit on your feet in kneeling pose.
You can sit on a cushion or have one behind you if that helps you feel comfortable.
Keeping your back nice and straight.
Place your hands facing upwards,
Ready to receive the energy around you.
Gently close your eyes as you start to settle in to your meditation.
Let's relax all of your body one part at a time.
Starting with your face.
Scrunch up your face really tight and then let it go.
Hunch your shoulders up to your ears.
Really tight and then let it go.
Hunch your shoulders up to your ears.
Really tight and let them go.
Tighten all the muscles in your arms.
Super tight and let them go.
Scrunch up your toes and let them go.
Feel your belly relax,
Your back relax.
Your whole body is relaxed and still.
Keeping your eyes closed.
Imagine a garden path with flowers and trees either side.
As you walk along the path,
You come to five steps.
Going down these steps leads you into feeling calm and safe and peaceful.
Going down the first step,
You feel your whole body relax and feel heavy.
As you walk down the second step,
You notice your thoughts start to drift away and you become more relaxed.
The third step sees all your feelings float away as you start to feel light.
Your fourth step,
Your heart opens to everything that brings you joy.
And as you step down the fifth and final step,
Your whole body is soft and warm and deeply relaxed.
Imagine that you are in the garden.
It's a clear night and the sky is a midnight blue.
As you look up,
You see a big full moon.
It's so bright that it lights up the whole garden.
You notice all the stars twinkling above you.
There's hundreds of them.
One star looks like it's getting bigger.
Can you see it?
It's shining brighter than the others.
With each breath you take,
The star comes closer and closer.
It's a golden glittering star.
Can you feel its warmth as it gets closer?
You feel safe and calm watching this star as it shines its loving light over you.
The star tells you that it's a magic star and it can take you for a ride up into space.
You step onto the star.
It feels so soft and warm and you lie down on it.
The star gently floats up into the air.
You feel safe and snug.
It's like the star is cuddling you.
You continue to float up and soon you are in space.
You can see the moon and some of the planets.
They're all different colours.
Red,
Orange,
Yellow and blue.
There are so many wonderful things to see up here in space.
A shooting star whizzes past.
Make a wish for yourself.
It can be anything you want it to be.
It feels so nice floating around in space on your magic star.
Deep inside your heart you start to notice a little sparkle.
This sparkle begins to glow and it starts to grow with each breath.
The glow becomes bigger and brighter,
Filling up your chest.
And you feel the warmth growing.
It fills your belly,
Your arms and your legs,
Your hands and your feet.
Now you feel your whole body glowing like a radiant star.
This wonderful light is your light.
It's all the love in your heart,
All the kindness you share.
It's all the wonderful things that make you,
You.
Let your light shine wherever you go.
When you shine your light,
It shows others that they can shine their light too.
When we all shine our light,
It makes the world into a more joyful and peaceful place.
Shining your light can be as simple as smiling with a friend,
Doing an act of kindness,
Holding a happy thought for someone or sending a wish to someone who's feeling sad.
It means believing in yourself and trusting that you can make the right choices for yourself.
Sharing your light means sharing the real you and being who you truly are.
Shine your light wherever you go.
Your magic star smiles at the radiant light that you shine.
It's time for your star to take you back.
With each breath,
The star gently floats back down to earth.
As you get closer to earth,
You feel all the joy and the happiness your light brings.
You step off your star and you give it a big hug and watch it as it gently floats back up into space.
Turn around and notice the five steps in your garden and you start to walk back up them.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two and one.
As you reach the top of the stairs,
You notice how calm and peaceful you feel.
This lovely feeling fills your whole body and you tingle from head to toe with joy.
Slowly start to wiggle your fingers now.
Slowly start to wiggle your toes.
Give yourself a big hug and thank yourself for making this special time for you.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
