Welcome to your campfire meditation.

Start by lying on your back in your bed.

You're all tucked up nice and snug.

Maybe your favorite teddy or soft toy is tucked in with you.

Your hands can be placed down by your side or on your belly,

Wherever feels most comfortable.

Gently close down your eyes as you start to settle into your meditation.

Take a full breath in through your nose and a long breath out through your nose.

Another full breath in and a long breath out.

Notice how with each breath your body is relaxing and becoming more still.

Feel your bed holding you as you sink just a little bit into it.

We count backwards.

10,

9,

8,

7,

6,

5,

4,

3,

2 and 1.

You feel completely calm and relaxed.

Let's relax all of your body one part at the time.

Starting with your face.

Scrunch up your face as tight as you can and then let it go.

Hunch your shoulders up towards your ears and then let it go.

Tighten all the muscles in your arms super tight and let it go.

Suck your belly button into your back really really tight and let it go.

And crunch your toes up really tight and let it go.

Feel your belly relax,

Your back relax,

Your whole body is still and relaxed.

It's a beautiful evening at the campsite.

The sky is a deep navy blue color and you can see hundreds of twinkling stars in the sky above you.

Look up to the sky and notice the stars.

You are sat around a warm campfire.

There are big stones around the edge of the campfire keeping you safe from the flames.

It feels so nice to sit here watching the flames.

Maybe you can feel the warmth of the fire on your face.

Can you hear the logs fizzing and crackling?

The playful flames are dancing around.

Notice how they move and change shape.

You look a little closer and you notice that the flames have changed color.

They're now purple.

So many different shades of purple.

Notice how peaceful you feel when you watch the purple flames.

I wonder,

I wonder if you can change the color of the flames.

Give it a go.

Think of your favorite color.

You did it!

Look what's happened.

The flames have changed color.

Feel how calm and relaxed you feel when you see the flames dancing around in your favorite color.

Oh you start to yawn and you start to feel tired.

The flames are getting smaller and the fire slowly reduces to just a little glow.

You go into your tent and you wiggle into your sleeping bag.

Your sleeping bag is wrapped around you,

Making you feel warm and safe and secure.

As you lie here,

Notice your belly rises and falls as you breathe in and out.

As you breathe in,

Your belly rises and as you breathe out,

Your belly falls.

With each breath,

You let go of the day that you've had.

You let go of anything that's worried you today as you start to put your thoughts to bed.

Doesn't it feel good to let go of the day?

To simply close your eyes and breathe.

You feel yourself drifting off into a blissful sleep.

Allowing yourself to have a long deep sleep is a way of showing kindness to yourself.

Well done for looking after yourself.

May you stay in this peaceful relaxed sleep until the sun returns in the morning and may your sleep be filled with the most wonderful dreams.

Enjoy your sleep tonight.

Namaste.
