Welcome to this evening practice where you are invited to write down everything that is on your mind and to let it go so that you can have a good night's sleep.
Sometimes we can have racing thoughts,
Many ideas,
Tasks that we need to complete,
Regrets of the past replaying in our minds and all sorts of stories taking up space in our heads.
Some of these things may be positive and inspiring but others may just be heavy,
Stressful and cause us anxiety.
Worrying about the future or what needs to get done,
Accomplish or solve does not serve us if we need to unwind and relax so we can get a decent sleep.
So join me now in doing a brain dump where you can release anything that is on your mind onto paper so it no longer needs to remain and take up space in your mind.
I invite you to first find a comfortable seated position,
This may be at your desk,
On the couch,
At the kitchen table or even just sitting up in your bed.
You will need something to write on,
If you prefer doing a brain dump via a pen and paper you might like to grab your journal and a pen.
If you prefer to write on your laptop then you can open up a word document to do this.
There is no right or wrong format,
Just whatever you prefer.
Once you are ready,
If you like you can light some incense or a candle to begin this evening ritual moment of intention and release.
Otherwise you can begin by closing your eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath in and out.
Either in your mind and heart or out loud,
Set the intention to release everything that is on your mind onto paper so that you can go to bed tonight feeling clear and calm.
Any racing thoughts,
Worries or to do's can be written down and released from your mind now.
You can pick them up tomorrow but they are not needed now,
So allow yourself to freely write,
Write anything that is going through your mind.
Let it all out,
It doesn't even have to make any sense,
Just let it out,
Let it be released and anchored onto paper.
Write without judgement,
Let it be removed from your mind.
I will give you 5 minutes to do this now.
