The Importance Of Neuroeducation
Hi there, in this video I am explaining to you what I teach here on my profile on Insight Timer and why. I share why neuroeducation is so important and what the difference is between other teachings that are based in psychology, for example. This is a little introductory video about me, my beliefs, and my work. I hope you enjoy it!

Hi,
Dear Insightema community.
This is a little intro video about me and my work.
And what I teach here on this platform.
I'm Hanna,
I'm a neuroscientist,
I'm trained in the Feltzen's Polyvagal model for trauma and addiction.
I've been working all over the world in rehabs and I'm also an artist.
I've been researching about how art can influence the collective nervous system.
And this is all of the background that informs everything that I'm teaching here.
I do believe that everybody.
Is supposed to know how that body actually works.
Everybody should know how their body works.
And we all have the right to understand how our nervous system is working.
So in this video,
I want to explain a little bit why neuroscience and somatic practices are so important for mental health and why I teach those rather than psychological approaches.
Or meditation or mindfulness.
While all of these are really,
Really good,
I do believe that knowing about our body and about our brain is the first step so we can start to analyze better and see where do we need support and what's happening inside of the body.
In Western cultures,
We tend to think that the more we analyze and the more we know of our brain,
The more our body follows.
So the general route of psychology,
Not all psychology,
The general route follows by contextualizing,
Analyzing thoughts,
Behaviors,
And the past.
And we do believe that the more we do that in our brain,
We change those thoughts,
We change those beliefs,
And then the body follows.
However,
We do now know in neuroscience that the nervous system of the body carries its own truth.
It carries its own reactions and it's mainly responsible for survival reactions.
And those reactions,
Because survival reactions have to happen really,
Really fast.
They just happen automatically and then the brain is informed.
So we do know now in neuroscience there's this whole part in the body that is reacting and influencing.
How we feel about things.
Obviously,
The amygdala and the prefrontal cortex and all of these things that are in the brain,
They're really influential in our mental health and our belief system and how we do life.
That's also really important.
However,
We previously believed that there's more top-down processing from the brain to the nervous system and that the brain is kind of like the king.
But now we know that there's actually way more bottom-up processing and way more information from the body to the brain.
So we have to start looking at how can we make the body feel safe because most situations where there's anxiety,
Problems of sleep,
Addiction,
Trauma.
Is kind of like an intrinsic memory of the body that at some point in the past we were not safe.
So my work really aims at educating you and teaching you practices of how you can learn how to step-by-step make your body feel more safe again and how you can apply simple practices day by day because the nervous system always learns with repetition.
But how you can do that through these videos with me and later by yourself and start to rewire and regulate your nervous system of the body.
So there is safety signals being brought up to the brain and then the brain can function fully because when we feel safe,
The prefrontal cortex is turned on and we can make decisions and plan it the way we want to plan and do our life.
We are not driven by our emotional brain and we can take control of our how we want to have our life.
And how we want to create our life.
So in that sense,
It's even manifestation neuroscience is manifestation in itself.
And so you will find on this channel,
A lot of.
A lot of practices that are regulating the body,
But also visualizations.
I'm using all parts.
I'm using the cognitive parts,
I'm using the visual parts,
And I'm also using the physical parts and teaching you how to sleep better and some basic neuroscience about all of these things.
It's not only practices,
It is also some science background because I believe that is really important and I believe that everybody should have the right to know these things.
So I'm really excited to be here.
Lots of you know me already,
But I'm excited to create more of this content and I'm really looking forward to hear from you.
Leave me a review,
Leave me a comment.
You can even message me here on Insight Timer.
And engage with the content that is on here because this is for you and it is important.
Available for free or the premium content but it's a really,
Really great resource to learn about your body,
To get to know yourself and to support your mental health,
Your well-being and your physical well-being,
Your physical health through just loving your nervous system a little bit more.
I see you in the next video and I hope you have a lovely day.
I'm proud of you and I believe in you and you got this.
