Hello and welcome to the Daily Insight.
My name is Giovanni Dinsman.
I am a meditation teacher and the author of Practical Meditation.
Meditation teaches us that inner peace is always available.
It is part of who we are,
Of our essence.
It is there deep behind all the noise of our mind and life.
And one of the doors to peace is space.
In the three meditations of today's Daily Insight,
You will learn three different ways to walk through this door and experience the joy of peace.
Close your eyes.
And keep your neck and back straight.
Center yourself in the present moment.
Relax your legs fully.
Relax your belly.
Relax your chest.
Relax your back.
Relax your left arm.
Your right arm.
Your shoulders,
Face.
Him here.
Pay attention to your natural breathing.
Allow yourself to be simply here.
A hundred percent just here.
You are aware of your body.
And all its sensations.
Therefore,
Your body is an object.
Inside your consciousness.
So the body cannot be who you are.
You are the watcher.
The witness of your body.
Notice that you are aware of your breathing.
And all its sensations.
Therefore,
Your breathing is an object.
Inside your consciousness.
You are the watcher.
The witness of the breathing.
You are also aware of your thoughts.
Your thoughts are objects.
Inside your consciousness.
So the thoughts cannot be who you are.
You are the watcher.
The witness of thoughts.
You are aware of your feelings.
Memories,
Desires.
And personality.
So these things cannot be who you are.
They are objects.
Inside your consciousness.
You are the watcher.
The Witness.
You are aware of thoughts that arise.
You are aware of sounds that you're here.
These things are not arising for you.
They are just movements in consciousness.
You are here before a thought arises.
You are here.
Wild thought is present.
And you are here.
After it has disappeared into emptiness.
You the watcher.
Remain.
You cannot be anything that you perceive.
Whatever you perceive is an object.
In your consciousness.
You are the subject.
Everything that you are aware of.
Can come and go.
But you.
The perceiving consciousness.
You remain.
Thoughts come and go.
Memories come and go.
Even your personality.
Your sense of self.
Come learn moose.
But you stay.
You are here.
Watching it all.
Bring your attention away from everything you can perceive.
And turn it 180 degrees.
Back on yourself.
The perceiver.
In this meditation.
Leave everything aside.
Remain as yourself.
The witness.
Don't try to define yourself.
As that would also be just another thought.
That you perceive.
Ask yourself.
Who am I?
That perceives these thoughts.
Who am I?
That hears these words.
Don't be in a hurry for an answer.
Whatever you think or feel.
It is not who you are.
Because you watch even that.
The question,
Who am I?
Is just a tool.
To bring your attention back into your pure sense of I AM.
Your consciousness.
So hold on to this subjective feeling.
Of I Am.
Of existing.
Be fully aware of your sense of being.
Your feeling of presence.
Focus all your energy.
All your attention.
In this subjective feeling of I or I am.
Don't allow this I am to connect with anything else.
Just keep it pure.
This I am is not your ego.
It is not personal.
It is just pure consciousness.
Remain as that.
Moment after moment.
Bring your attention back.
To your consciousness.
Any thought or sensation may come.
But don't move with them.
Turn the attention inward.
And stay with the I AM.
Here you have no name.
No form.
Nor separation.
You are the space of consciousness.
Open awareness.
Limitless.
Keep your attention only on this feeling of I AM.
If your attention gets distracted.
With anything inside your mind.
Notice how you are aware.
Even of that movement of attention.
You are the witness of even that subtle movement.
Remain as the witness.
Allow yourself to remain present and still.
As pure I am.
There's nothing else for you to do.
In this moment.
This is not imagination.
It is not visualization.
It is simply letting go.
Looking inside.
And being who you truly are.
When you hear the bell ring.
You will go on with your day.
Your mind and body.
Will be involved in other activities.
But nothing will happen to your consciousness.
Nothing changes.
Remember.
You are the witness.
You are.
Pure I Am.
Simply remain as pure awareness.
This short meditation teaches you how to tap into the peace of pure being by letting thoughts go and focusing on the pure I AM.
The deeper you go into this meditation,
The easier it will become for you.
So I strongly encourage you to listen to this meditation daily for 21 days to really absorb these skills.
And please share with us in the comments.
