Hi and welcome to this SOS meditation.
Maybe now you are facing a difficult situation.
You're feeling angry,
Scared,
Anxious.
So I want to help you with this exercise.
It's a psychological trick and it comes from the stoic toolkit.
I invite you to consider the difficult situation that you're facing now as a stoic test.
You can imagine that the ancient stoic gods are testing you because they want you to be strong,
To be resilient.
Try to imagine that or if you're not comfortable with the picture of stoic gods,
It can be maybe an imaginary coach,
Teacher,
Master,
Or even the stoics themselves,
Seneca,
Marcus Aurelius.
Take some time to put this situation in the perspective of a test.
And consider that while it might be difficult now,
One day you're gonna tell the story of this setback that you encountered and how you dealt with it.
You're gonna tell this story to other people and you're gonna be proud of the way you dealt with it.
The ingenious solution that you have found to solve the problem or maybe how you behaved with personal elegance,
Calm,
Compassion,
Strength.
Imagine that.
And each time that today you will feel desperate,
Anxious,
Overwhelmed,
Remember this exercise.
Put everything through this lens of a stoic test.
It's just a psychological trick but it's really powerful.
And also reflect on how unlucky are the people that never face setbacks because they don't learn how to deal with problems.
And when they appear,
They will eventually appear.
They're not trained.
They haven't been tested enough by the stoic gods.
They won't be ready.
You will be ready.
You.
Because you trained.
Because you have become stronger and resilient overcoming all of these challenges.
