Hi and welcome to this exercise We will practice the stoic meditation called the last time meditation and this is a very ancient practice that will allow you to be more present in the moment and feel even a sense of connection and gratitude for the things you have in your life.

I I encourage you to do this practice while you are doing something.

It might be having a walk or eating maybe your favorite fruit Choose an activity that is simple and that doesn't require engagement with other people so that you can actually focus on the practice So you can pause choose the activity and then resume the practice I suppose that we can start So keep doing or start doing the thing that you want to do but do it as though this is the last time you can do it Just for a moment entertain this thought No need to be gloomy or to have a morbid kind of attention.

It's simply the realization that one day you might not be able to do the thing that you're doing now You might get sick,

Get older,

Weaker Or maybe the thing that you're doing now involves an object that you will lose And notice how it makes you feel,

This realization that this might be the last time It's possible to feel a sense of warmth Even affection for the activity A sense of preciousness Of how this thing is almost sacred And you will miss this one day Notice how maybe your senses got more refined and you can perceive more sensations and sounds Now you're more aware of what you're doing especially because you know that this might be the last time If you want you can now conclude the practice or you can keep going And every once in a while flicker this thought that this might be the last time And I encourage you to do the same also outside of this practice just in your everyday life when you talk with someone you love for example Entertain just briefly this thought this might be the last time and notice how it makes you feel maybe you start listening 100% And you appreciate this person You can even try it with activities that you usually don't like Like cleaning the house for example realizing that one day you'll be older and you won't be able to do so and maybe you will even miss this activity that now you don't like Everything becomes precious

I am the oldest compatible amateur kickboxer in the US, there is never a promise of a tomorrow that younger folks take for granted. This practice helps me deeply appreciate every moment I have doing this thing I love.
