Begin your practice today by finding a comfortable position as this is the foundation of your Yoga Nidra practice.
Take extra time to gather your props.
You might lie on your back with your legs slightly apart and arms by your sides,
Palms facing up.
Socks on your feet if you tend to get cold and place a pillow under the knees or behind the head for added comfort.
You might choose to practice in your bed to help you fall asleep.
May I suggest placing a washcloth or eye pillow across the eyes and be sure to dim the lights.
Now make those final adjustments to enhance your comfort and begin this well-earned journey of deep relaxation.
Allow your eyes to close and begin the practice by taking a breath in through the nose and a long sigh out through the mouth.
Now inhale through the nose and at the very end,
Take an extra sip of air through the nose and then breathe out through the mouth.
Inhale,
Inhale,
Exhale.
One more time.
Allow yourself to connect with the soothing energy of nature,
Of the ground beneath you,
Of Mother Earth.
Feel the support of the earth beneath you.

A grounding force that embraces your body,
Finding a gentle landing on the earth,
Releasing all tension and stress.
Now,
As you feel your body starting to soften,
I'd like you to imagine that you're lying in a tranquil forest with the moonlight gently filtering through the trees,
Creating a peaceful ambience.

With each breath,
Visualize the breath as a gentle breeze rustling through the leaves of the forest,
Bringing a sense of calmness and relaxation.
Let go of the weight of the day,
The worries and any unease that you feel you're holding.
Allow yourself to surrender into the tranquility of the forest.
Picture the earth absorbing any stress or anxiety,
Grounding it and transforming it into nourishment for the roots of the trees around you.
As your body starts to relax,
Envision the tension leaving you,
Dissolving into the earth,
Leaving you lighter and more at peace.
Feel the contours of the ground beneath you,
Sensing the support and stability it offers.
Your body beginning to soften and merging with the energy of the earth as if it's becoming one with nature.
Allow the imagery of the tranquil forest and the moonlit night to fill you.
To transport you into a place of complete ease where your being is in harmony with the natural world and every breath brings you deeper into a state of relaxation.
Feel your eyes gazing inward.
Feel a deep inner softening as your eyes find a focal point into the heart space,
Deep in the center of your being as if you're deep in the forest.
It's time now to set your sankalpa,
Your intention for your practice today.

You can repeat it now three times to yourself quietly,
Or you might try this sankalpa.

Let me guide you through each part of the body.
Simply follow my voice as I guide you through a rotation of consciousness.
Imagine a clear night sky.
And as I mention each part of the body,
Envision a shooting star descending from above,
Gently touching and illuminating that specific area with a radiant light representing clarity and focus.
Begin by directing your attention to your right hand.
Picture a shooting star streaking across the sky,
Gently touching your fingertips,
Infusing them with a spark of clarity.
All five fingers.
Feel this clarity spread all the way into the hand,
Forearm,
Upper arm.
Feel the whole right arm awakening a purpose.
Allow this energy to seep into every pore,
Filling with clarity and radiance.
Now,
Shift over to your left hand.
See another shooting star gracefully descend and make contact to all five fingers on your left hand,
Infusing them with a burst of clarity.
Visualize this energy spreading to the left palm,
Forearm,
To the upper arm,
Purifying your thoughts and intentions,
Guiding you towards a path of clear purpose and determination,
The whole left arm.
Move your focus down to your right foot.
Picture another shooting star descend,
Embracing your lower leg,
Upper leg,
The entire right leg,
Showering you with clarity and radiance.
Right leg,

Feel the light permeating your being.
Move your awareness to your left foot.
Envision a shooting star touching and illuminating your left foot.
Lower leg,
Upper leg,
Your entire left leg.
Clarity moving into every fiber of your being.
See another star descend to your forehead.
To the backs of the eyes,
Root of the tongue,
Throat,
Heart center,
And down to the base of the spine.
Feel the radiant light representing clarity.
Forming a vibrant energy within you,
Supporting your purposeful strides towards a future lit by your own inner luminosity and vision.
Feel the whole body filled with this vibrant,
Harmonious energy.
