Namaste.
This is Danielle.
Welcome to this Yoga Nidra practice.
This Yoga Nidra practice is to help you open to new possibilities.
Find a comfortable lying down position.
You may want to place a pillow under your knees or a blanket over your body.
You might cover your eyes and turn off the lights.
Allow your body to be able to fully relax and feel comfortable.
Once you are ready to begin,
Close your eyes.
Begin to notice your exhalations and let gravity begin to soften the whole body.
Relax the jaw and lips and feel your teeth slightly apart.
Relax your tongue.
Soften your eyes.
Let them relax in the sockets.
Start to feel the whole body and relax.
Relax the mind.
Begin to feel tension releasing from your body.
Do this a few more times.
Notice your exhalation and let go.
Complete inhale.
Complete exhale.
Letting go of any stress.
Tell yourself it's time to be still and feel where you're holding your tension.
Try to let go.
Begin to relax your body.
This is your time to treat yourself to self-care and self-healing.
Let yourself move inwards.
Disconnect from the outside world.
Start to let go of any tension or stress you feel held in your body.
Now start to feel your body resting.
Feel your whole body and your effortless breath.
Start to count backwards on your breath.
Begin at the number 10.
Next exhalation,
9.
Next exhalation,
8 and so forth.
Let each exhale begin to peel away a layer.
Closer you get to zero,
The more the body and mind are at complete ease.
At zero,
You can say to yourself,
I feel my body resting.
I feel peace and stillness.
Bring to mind the idea of opening up to new possibilities.
Imagine yourself standing at a crossroads with endless paths stretching out before you.
You have the power to choose any path,
To explore any possibility.
Now focus on your breath and allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation.
Now we will practice our resolution or sankalpa.
This is a positive statement or affirmation,
Something that you are dearly committed to achieving in the next 6 to 18 months.
As you enter a state of relaxation,
Bring to mind the idea of opening up to new possibilities.
Imagine yourself expanding,
Becoming more receptive to the world around you.
Notice any limiting beliefs or fears that may be holding you back and visualize them melting away,
Releasing from your being.
Allow yourself to let go.
Release the need to control the outcome.
Trust the unfolding of your path.
Might you imagine yourself stepping out into the unknown,
Filled with excitement and curiosity.
Now bring to mind a specific area of your life where you would like to open up to new possibilities.
It could be your career,
Relationships,
Personal growth or anything else.
As you focus on this area,
Repeat your sankalpa three times.
You might say,
I am open to new possibilities in a specific area and I trust in the unfolding of my path.
I am open to new possibilities in a specific area and I trust in the unfolding of my path.
Visualize yourself taking action towards your goals and desires and see yourself successfully achieving them.
Trust in your ability to manifest your deepest dreams and desires.
Feel the happiness that you will feel when your desire is fulfilled.
Be sure to repeat the sankalpa mentally and precisely.
Now give thanks that you have already achieved your desire.
We will begin a body scan.
Remember,
It's okay if your mind wanders during the body scan.
Simply acknowledge any thoughts and return your focus back to the present moment and your breath.

The head.
Be aware of the whole body.
Feel your breath and move your awareness down to the bottoms of your feet.
Imagine as if you are breathing in from your feet,
Filling all the way up to the crown of your head with breath.
Feel your exhalation,
Breath moving downwards from the head,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Slowly down the abdomen,
Through the legs,
And out the feet.
Light rising on the inhale,
All the way to the crown of the head,
Darkness leaving the body on the exhale.
Breathing in,
Light moving upwards,
Breathing out,
Darkness moving downwards.
Now bring your attention to the top of your head and down to the space between your eyebrows and slightly above.
Just watch and remain an observer.
Look into the darkness,
Remain still,
Move deeper into relaxation.
Might you see shapes,
Images,
Patterns,
Even light might appear or you may see nothing at all.
Just relax,
Looking into the darkness.
Now move your awareness down to your face,
Feeling the sensation of warmth moving down to your neck and shoulders,
Down your body,
To your arms.
Warmth,
Like the warmth of the sun shining on your body,
Down to your torso and your hips.
Warmth down to your legs,
All the way down to your feet.
Feel your entire body warm.
Once you get to your feet,
Feel your entire body heavy,
Like a huge rock,
Heavy,
Weighted to the ground.
Now feel where your body meets the floor.
Feel the points of your body that touches the floor,
Your heels,
Hands,
Spine,
Back of the head.
Relax and feel all of these points at once.
Feel the space just under the body.
Feel the body weightless,
All the body parts,
Your head,
Both arms and shoulders are weightless,
The legs weightless.
The body is so light you feel like a feather.
Now move to your heart space,
From the armpits to the center of the chest,
Into the center of your being.
Feel your heart space,
This space that knows all.
Listen to your heart space.
What is it telling you about opening to new possibilities?
Listen without judgment.
Become aware of the breath once again.
Now move your awareness just below the heart but above the navel,
In the abdomen,
Into your center of energy.
See a flame,
A flame of light.
As you breathe in,
The light begins to increase,
Moving and spreading through your entire being.
As you breathe out,
The breath exhaling,
The light begins to slowly dim,
Returning to your center.
Inhale,
Stronger,
The light becomes.
Exhaling,
The light gently dims.
Your inner light or flame reminding you your energy is always there to help remove any barriers that may be holding you back from opening to new possibilities.
Let that flame be a reminder that you can push through any challenging moments,
Fears,
Mental barriers,
Whatever you may be facing that's holding you back.
Your inner light slowly begin to mentally repeat your resolution.
Your sankalpa once again,
Three times,
Slowly use the same words that you used at the beginning of the practice.
Mentally repeat your sankalpa.
I am open to new possibilities in a specific area and I trust in the unfolding of my path.
Now give thanks.
Be thankful as if you already achieved your desire,
Your new possibility.
Stay relaxed,
No effort at all.
Now allow your awareness to return to the breath.
Sense the breath rising up from the feet to the crown of the head and descending down to your feet.
Without opening your eyes,
See the room around you.
Slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Gently stretch.
Take your time coming back to the present moment,
Feeling refreshed and renewed.
Take a few more deep breaths.
When you are ready,
You can open your eyes,
Ready to embrace new possibilities.
Remember,
You are the creator of your own life and you have the power to choose any path and make your dreams a reality.
Namaste.
I know it's not easy to make the time for yourself,
