If you're feeling a little anxious,
Fearful,
Overwhelmed,
Or simply feel like you need some grounding,
Then this is a meditation for you.
Take the time to find a comfortable seat,
Whether that's on the floor or maybe in a chair.
Rest your hands gently in your lap,
Raise your chin ever so slightly and gradually start to close down your eyes.
Take a moment to arrive.
Let go of your day so far and let go of any thoughts.
Relax your shoulders and soften your face.
Release your jaw and let your mouth drop slightly open.
Your tongue also drops away from the roof of your mouth.
Soften your lips.
Relax your cheeks,
Your nose and your ears.
Soften your eyes and let them drop back into your eye sockets and release any tension in your forehead,
Giving your face and your body full permission to relax and let go.
Take a deep inhale through the nose,
Exhale side out.
Once more,
Inhale,
Exhale up your lungs,
Exhale,
Release,
Let it all out.
Now feel into your body.
Are there any areas which require particular attention today?
Any aches,
Pains,
Tension?
Send your breath to these areas.
Watch as your muscles start to soften,
To loosen and the tension releases.
Keep breathing and with every breath you feel a little calmer,
A little more relaxed.
Let the sensation of inner peace wash over your entire body.
Now bring your attention to the base of your spine.
Imagine your legs are like roots of a tree growing down to the earth centre,
Grounding you and filling you with a sensation of safety and security.
Inhale,
Grow tall with a breath,
Exhale root down.
Inhale,
Lengthen,
Exhale,
Feel the weight of your body on the ground beneath you.
Become entirely still.
Inhale,
Grow tall with a breath,
Exhale root down.
Inhale,
Grow tall with a breath,
Exhale root down.
Slowly begin to come back into your body.
Become aware of the sounds around you.
The smell in the air.
Feel the weight of your clothes on your skin.
Whenever you're ready,
Gently open up your eyes.
Inhale,
Grow tall with a breath,
Exhale root down.
Inhale,
Grow tall with a breath,
Exhale root down.
