Anchor into joy, peace and love as you prepare for a day full of new possibilities. You'll feel joyful, calm and at ease. You may wish to do this at the start of your day, and you can do it either sitting up in bed as soon as you wake, or later as you prepare to begin your day.

Welcome to your sunrise morning meditation for gladness and joy.

Find a comfortable seated position and guide your awareness to your breath.

If it feels good for you,

Gently let your eyes close.

In order to create space for the new,

We start with releasing the old.

With each inhale,

Allow your breath to gently search within,

Gathering up any thoughts and memories from yesterday,

Unfinished tasks and lingering emotions.

Allow them to surface in your being without judgment or attachment.

And with each exhale,

Release them one by one.

With each breath that leaves,

Let go of the weight that these tasks,

Emotions,

Thoughts or memories carry and free yourself from the burden of the past.

Inhaling gathering up thoughts,

Memories,

Tasks and emotions that you'd like to let go of and exhaling releasing them one by one.

Continue like this for the next 9 breaths.

Feel your body surrendering to this process as you feel lighter,

Relieved of the weight that you once held.

As you release these old stories,

These outdated beliefs that no longer serve you,

You create a space within yourself so you can approach this moment with openness,

Freedom and a fresh perspective.

And now,

Wherever you are,

Gently let go of this technique and allow your breath to continue to flow fluidly.

Now visualize yourself waking up in the morning before the sun has risen.

It's still dark outside and since you have a little time,

You feel the urge to go to a space where you can witness the sunrise.

And to go to the most relaxing place for you.

Maybe you see yourself taking a walk on the beach or strolling along your favorite nature path.

Or perhaps you watch yourself sitting on your front porch while holding a mug of freshly brewed coffee.

Wherever you imagine yourself right now,

Take a few deep breaths in and long breaths out to soak in all of this around you.

As you take deep breaths in and long breaths out,

Notice a feeling of calm flooding the whole of your body.

Guide your awareness to the sky.

Notice that as the sun is beginning to rise,

You see the stars slowly fading away,

Knowing that they are still there.

While the outline of the surrounding trees come to life as they are gently illuminated by the light of the rising sun.

As the sun continues to ascend,

The sky takes on a deep,

Vibrant orange hue.

The trees become more and more vivid and clear.

And you hear and see the sound of the leaves rustling and swaying in the early morning breeze.

You feel the gentle caress of this breeze as it touches your skin and flows through your hair.

You feel warm and comfortable.

And at this moment,

You notice a gentle smile slowly spreading across your face.

You feel as if you are the only one enjoying this view,

This breeze,

This feeling and this scent of this fresh morning air.

You appreciate this gift of relaxation and peace in this private moment.

Right now,

You are fully present.

You realize you are exactly where you are meant to be.

And all of you,

As you are,

Here,

Now,

Is welcome.

Allow this experience and the feeling of being cocooned in this safety and peace.

Let it saturate your consciousness.

Gradually,

The clouds display a beautiful pink shade,

Creating a breathtaking morning.

And all is well.

As you watch the pink clouds float gracefully through the morning sky,

A deep appreciation fills your being.

You acknowledge and appreciate everything that is currently working in your life.

All the opportunities,

The people,

The circumstances,

All your relationships.

And you even appreciate the challenges that you face,

Knowing that these are opportunities for your growth.

You feel a spreading warmth in your heart.

Just as gladness spreads,

It surrounds you and it fills your heart with love.

See the sky continue to change color as it transitions from gold to a clear,

Limitless blue.

And feel that in your heart,

There is,

Too,

A limitless,

Vast consciousness overflowing and brimming with possibilities.

As you connect with this blue,

Appreciate the sky's beauty and remember this serene and tranquil moment of peace and calm.

As you connect with this limitless blue,

Trust that today be kind to you.

Trust that all you desire for this day will come smoothly and effortlessly.

You are welcome to stay here as long as you wish.

If you feel your practice is complete,

I'll count down from 10 to 0 and when I reach 0,

You can slowly open your eyes.

10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 Slowly allow your eyes to gently blink open and let's take a deep breath in and a long breath out.

As you continue with the rest of your day,

Bring this energy with you into the rest of your day and the rest of your life.
