Let yourself arrive here exactly as you are.
You don't need to do anything.
You don't need to fix anything.
There is nothing left to figure out tonight.
Whatever the day held.
The thoughts,
The decisions.
Let the things that went unsaid,
You can set them down now.
This is your time.
This is your rest.
With your eyes closed.
If they haven't already.
And simply feel the surface beneath you.
The weight of your body held and supported.
You are already being held.
Take one slow breath in through the nose and a long,
Releasing breath out through the mouth.
And again inhaling slowly.
And exhaling completely.
Letting your jaw soften.
Your shoulders melt.
There is nothing to hold on to right now.
Bring your awareness gently to your feet.
Notice any tension there and just breathe it loose.
You don't need to force it,
Just notice and let it go.
Moving up through your calves and shins.
Through your knees.
Your thighs.
Let each part of you soften.
Like the snow quietly settling.
Your hips.
Your lower back.
Releasing any effort.
Your belly.
Rising and falling with each breath.
You don't need to control it Your body already knows how to breathe.
It's been doing this your whole life.
Your chest now.
Your heart.
If there is any tightness here.
Any residue.
From the day.
You don't need to understand it.
Just place one hand there softly in your mind and breathe.
Your shoulders.
Your arms.
Your hands.
Even your fingers.
Let everything go heavy and still.
Your throat.
Your face.
The muscles around your eyes.
You don't realize how much you hold there.
Just let them go softer now.
Quieter.
And your mind.
If thoughts are still moving through,
That's okay.
You don't need to stop them,
Just let them pass like clouds drifting through a very still sky.
You are here.
You are resting.
You are safe.
I want to offer you something tonight.
Not something you need to think about,
Just something to receive two simple words and I'd like you to let them land.
Not just in your mind.
But in your body in the very cells of you.
I am safe.
Let those words settle.
Notice where you feel them.
Or will you resist them?
Both are welcome here.
Right now,
In this moment,
Your body is breathing on its own.
Your heart is beating without your help.
The surface beneath you is holding you full weight.
You are literally,
Physically supported.
I am safe.
Your nervous system has been working so hard.
Scanning,
Protecting,
Preparing for things that may never come.
You can thank it for all of that.
And then Very gently,
Tell it.
You can rest now.
We are safe tonight.
I am safe right here.
Right now.
In this body.
In this bed.
In this breath.
Imagine for a moment.
What safety feels like as a place.
Not a thought,
A place.
It might be somewhere real.
Or somewhere your body simply invents for you right now.
Notice the temperature there Is it warm?
Cool?
Is there stillness?
Or a gentle sound in the background.
The soft fall of rain maybe.
Are quiet.
Pure,
Deep,
Quiet.
In this place,
Your place.
There is nothing required of you.
No performance,
No explanation.
You are simply there and now.
You belong there completely.
I am safe here.
Feel how your body responds to that Notice any small release.
A deeper breath,
A softening sound verse.
That release is real.
That is your nervous system believing you.
Let the feeling of safety become less like a thought now.
And more like a temperature.
Something you're soaking in,
Something the body recognizes at a level deeper than words.
I am safe.
I am hell.
I am home.
And myself.
Now let the words go.
You don't need to hold on to them the feeling they've given you,
That quiet,
Steady sense of being held.
Status stays.
Even when the words dissolve.
There is nothing more to do.
Nowhere to be.
The night is long and gentle.
The music will carry you now.
Let your breath go.
Slow down.
Let your thoughts drift further.
Let your body sink deeper You are safe.
You are resting.
You are.
Enough.
Exactly as you are.
Sleep now.
I'll be here.
