Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and this is a 20 minute guided meditation intended to help you start your day feeling more connected to yourself and more inspired by yourself.
Today's meditation is one part meditation and one part visualization.
I will guide you through the entire process.
All you need to do right now is find a comfortable seat,
Sit back,
Relax and take a couple deep breaths as we begin to go inwards together.
Sinking into your seat but also having a nice tall spine this morning.
Slowly,
Gently rolling your shoulders backwards and opening your heart to this new morning.
Allowing your hands to fall gently on your lap and if your eyes are still open,
I invite you to close them now.
Just begin to feel what's alive inside you this morning.
Taking deeper breaths,
Expanding your lungs and your heart in every direction 360 degrees.
Bringing your attention to the breath,
To the parts in which it makes contact with your body,
Your lips,
Your tongue,
Your nostrils perhaps,
Your throat,
Lungs,
Heart,
Belly.
Maybe you noticed this morning how easy it can be to bring a little bit more joy into your body simply by deepening your breath.
As we sit in the silence before our second song starts to play,
Just observe what it's like to be in your own space.
If your mind is racing,
That's okay,
That's what minds do sometimes,
Don't judge it,
Don't become it.
Just sit back into the seat of your soul and observe whatever is here for you.
Taking a nice deep breath now and just letting it go.
Starting to breathe deeply,
Breathe in a way that allows joy to build inside you.
Bring the breath to refresh you,
To replenish you,
To enliven all souls and cells around you.
Allowing a warm,
Comforting softness to fall from the top of your head,
From your crown as this softness falls down your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your nose,
Your jaw,
It falls down your neck,
And your shoulders and your back like a warm hug.
Down,
Down,
Your hips,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your shins,
Your feet.
If you allow it,
This warm softness is here to keep you supported and safe.
Letting your mind do whatever it wants to,
It's okay,
This is your space,
Your meditation.
Taking a deep breath here and sitting back,
Back,
Back into the seat of your soul.
Letting your thoughts play out like a film in front of you,
Feeling the power,
The stability and support that exists when you sit in the seat of your soul,
When you sit and embody your highest self.
Keeping your spine tall,
Rolling your shoulders back one more time and allowing your heart to take up space this morning and feeling the ground beneath your feet.
From this place of stability,
Of comfort,
Of strength and power,
We're going to go on a little journey together,
A little visualization.
What I ask you to do now is to imagine someone you love standing in front of you now.
Someone you care about deeply,
Someone who is very important to your life.
This person that you are willing to support and love is standing in front of you now and I want you to imagine this person is you.
Exactly how you are today,
Standing in front of you.
Staying in the energy that is your higher self,
Witnessing and holding space for your human.
Your vessel,
Your being,
With all his or her feelings,
Emotions and insecurities.
All we're going to do with this meditation is hold space for ourselves personified in front of us.
Taking a moment just to witness this person in front of you from head to toe.
Just take a moment to look at them,
Really look at them.
And I want you to see if you can feel into what it's like for them.
Is there any empathy you have for what they might be feeling standing there?
There's a lot going on in the world and sometimes it's easier for us to be kind and considerate of other people.
And so now there is a version of you standing in front of you and we're going to share kindness and love with this version and see and feel what happens.
Remembering that everything is acceptable and okay.
If it feels appropriate,
If you feel called,
I want you to in your mind's eye repeat after me,
Looking directly at this beautiful being in front of you.
I see you.
I see you.
I see how hard you are working.
I see how much you care.
You are beautiful.
You are kind.
You are considerate.
You are creative.
Your voice matters in this world.
And even when you are completely quiet,
I love you all the way.
Taking a moment to sincerely feel what it's like in your heart when embodying your highest self to radiate love into the world.
Taking a moment to empathize and feel what it's like for this human in front of you,
For a human to hear those words,
Those words of encouragement,
Those words of love.
It's entirely okay if your human standing in front of you met you with resistance and shut down.
Are you able to love them even when they shut down?
As we get ready for our final song together this morning,
We're going to have one last moment to connect with our human.
Taking a deep breath,
We journey deep.
Now we're going to journey high and light.
You are open to it if you are willing.
Take a deep breath and allow that breath to bring joy,
To bring lightness.
Maybe even ecstasy into your body.
Even 1% is a success.
Allowing a softness to fall upon you now.
Soften your forehead,
Soften your jaw.
Are you open to trying a little baby smile this morning on your face to see what that feels like?
Your human is standing in front of you.
With this last track,
Restore anything you want to say to him or her.
You can say it with words in your mind.
You can say it by just transmitting a feeling.
