Why You Can’t Sleep

With Esther Walton

Why You Can't Sleep is a practical ten-lesson course for anyone who has spent too many nights watching the clock and wondering why rest won't come. Across ten lessons, you'll learn how your body actually decides when to sleep, and how to work with that process instead of fighting it. You'll build a consistent sleep-wake rhythm using light and timing, create a wind-down routine that genuinely signals rest, and set up a bedroom that supports sleep rather than working against it. You'll learn what to do when a racing mind won't switch off, and the single most effective technique for the moment you're lying awake at 3 am. You'll also cover the anxious cycle that keeps so many tired people awake, the food, drink and movement choices that help or hinder rest, and how to bring everything together into a realistic, personal sleep plan you can keep using long after the course ends. Every lesson gives you specific, practical tools you can try that night, not just information about why sleep matters.

Meet your Teacher

Esther Walton is a UK-registered dietitian with many years of experience supporting people through some of life's most demanding periods. Alongside her clinical work, she has developed a body of audio courses grounded in psychology, cognitive behavioural approaches, and wellbeing research, designed to give people both the understanding and the practical tools they need to manage their inner lives more effectively. Her approach is direct, evidence-based, and always focused on what people can actually do rather than how they might ideally feel. This course draws on established sleep psychology and cognitive behavioural techniques for insomnia to help people understand why sleep breaks down, and what to do about it.
