Hello everyone and welcome to the Invigorate Your Life podcast.

My name is Molly and I'm your host.

This is episode one.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

I'm so excited to finally launch this project.

I've been working on this project for almost two years now.

It's crazy that it's been in the making for that long and I'm finally ready to put this out into the world.

And I've really been holding myself back in a lot of ways from sharing my story and using my voice to communicate my experiences and share those lessons and blessings with other people because of perfectionism,

Self-sabotage,

Self-doubt,

And ultimately fear.

So today we are going to be tackling all of those conversations.

But first,

I have to set the scene for you guys because this is too crazy.

Usually I record in my bed,

Literally under the covers,

But because my roommates are in the living room,

I'm in the bathroom right now,

Sitting on the lid of a toilet.

I've got my nightstand in front of me with my laptop and my mic propped up and I've got my notes just sitting on my leg.

So I just had to share that with you guys because I thought it was so funny and I'm just so excited to see how the podcasting space evolves and transforms as I continue down this road and continue on this journey.

And I think what I'm really testing right now is my confidence and feeling secure in myself and really loving myself unconditionally through my own creations because we are our own worst critic all the time.

So right now my husband is currently in the bedroom while I'm in the bathroom that's connected to the bedroom.

So he can totally hear everything I'm saying right now.

Hello if you can hear me.

And it's super embarrassing.

It's really embarrassing for me to be putting myself out there and doing something creative and having other people,

Especially people close to you,

People in your circle,

Your family,

Your friends,

Kind of seeing that and reacting to it before it's taken off.

That's what's really terrifying about it is that,

And I'm sure a lot of you can relate if you are also working on creative projects or if you are working on starting a business or doing something more unconventional,

Really just getting your art and your story out into the world.

It's so terrifying to talk about it.

But that's one of the things I really wanted to kind of drive home today is that you have to own it.

As long as you are embarrassed about what you want,

It doesn't want you back.

Because think of it like a relationship.

We are constantly in a relationship.

We are in love with every moving piece of our life.

Right?

So if we view our dreams like a relationship,

Imagine if you are dating someone and you are too embarrassed to tell anybody that you're dating them.

You're too embarrassed to tell your family,

You're too embarrassed to take them home or introduce them to your friends,

But you love them and behind the scenes,

You're 100%,

You're all in with them,

But you're too embarrassed to put them out into the world.

They are going to stop wanting you.

They are not going to want to be in a co-creative,

Cohabitating relationship with you.

Right?

So we really have to own it.

If there is something that you want,

You cannot be embarrassed about wanting it.

Oftentimes we kind of control or try to limit what we want based on what other people or what we think other people expect from us or what we think will impress other people,

When in reality,

Nobody actually cares about what we're doing.

I promise you,

Nobody cares.

If you do something extremely impressive for other people's approval,

They're going to think that's cool for like two seconds and then forget about it because they're invested in their own life.

Nobody cares about anybody and that's just the truth.

So we need to stop really caring about what other people think is simply,

You know,

That's the simplest way that I can put it.

Right?

And whenever we're kind of going down that road of not caring what other people think,

It's also so important to not overshare your plans with people who don't get it.

This is so important.

This is something that I've been moving through for literally years now.

I've been in therapy since I was like 14 years old.

And my biggest challenge,

My biggest obstacle,

The biggest thing that we've been working on has been learning how to be myself and not turn to other people for approval.

So I am currently moving through some massive shifts.

I mean,

Quantum leaps.

And I get really excited about it.

And I'm a total open book.

I'm a Sagittarius.

I'm loud.

I'm expressive.

Everybody knows how I feel all the time.

And I made the mistake of oversharing with some people who aren't 100% on board or 100% supportive of my success,

Because nobody can be 100% supportive of your success because they've got their own biases.

They've got their own mindsets,

Conditionings,

Programming,

And it has nothing to do with you.

It has everything to do with how they view themselves.

Is this something that they would allow themselves to pursue?

Why would you take advice from somebody who you don't agree with their choices?

Why would you take advice from somebody if you wouldn't want to live their life?

That's what I'm trying to say,

Right?

So I've had these conversations with some individuals who aren't 100% kind of seeing eye to eye with these massive plans that I've set for myself.

And I really do want to have some privacy with those plans,

Again,

Because I think there's a difference between being embarrassed about your goals and keeping them private just to keep them sacred and keep them close to home.

Because I am really trying to step into that energy of not talking the talk,

But walking the walk.

My entire life,

I have been a dreamer.

It has been so easy for me to develop visions and know exactly what I want.

And I've always dreamed pretty big,

But I am just now beginning to dream astronomically massive,

Right?

But I want to keep that sacred because I want to walk the walk.

I want people to see where I am now and see me 18 months from now and notice the difference.

They'll see the changes and that'll speak for me.

I won't have to disclose everything that I'm working on too,

Right?

So I believe that there gets to be a new way.

So I went off on a tangent a little bit,

But kind of going back to how other people can kind of rain on our parade sometime.

A lot of people are still of the conditioning that it has to be hard.

Everything has to be a struggle.

And I believe there gets to be a new way.

I believe that we get to live life on our own terms and we get to have it all,

Right?

When we live life on our own terms,

It's like,

Okay,

Currently I'm in scale.

It's a success course by Brooke of Arcanum LA.

And she shared this metaphor that I thought was so perfect to what we're talking about today.

She described life as being a buffet where everything is available because we live in an abundant universe,

Right?

If you can imagine it in your mind,

You have the power to create it.

And I think that's so beautiful.

Whenever we do things for other people,

That is,

I think,

One of the saddest things that one of the saddest choices that we can make,

Right,

Is not living for ourselves,

But living for other people.

So you need to listen to your soul's calling and act on it.

That's kind of how we can get into alignment.

Because I get a lot of questions from my family and my friends about how do you know when you're in alignment?

What is alignment?

How do you know who you are?

So for me personally,

I get feelings in my body.

I'm a very sensation-oriented,

Somatic person.

So I feel things in my body.

Typically,

I feel it in my heart center.

And I think this is so interesting that the heart chakra is the energy center of balance and integration of masculine and feminine.

And the higher self is all about balance.

So I think that's really interesting.

And when I was 16,

I went to a psychic and she told me like,

My life's purpose was to find balance.

So I just think that's really interesting not to get off on a tangent.

But for me personally,

I look to my heart and I follow my heart.

So whenever I know that something is in alignment with me,

I will physically feel a glow,

A softening in my heart.

Whenever something is not in alignment with me,

My chest will tighten and it will feel kind of like restrictive,

Right?

So I was talking about this with my therapist and she actually told me that that's how you can tell you are in alignment with your heart.

That that's how you can tell you are on the right path whenever your mind and your heart are in alignment with each other.

There is cohesion and balance and integration,

Right?

So when we are thinking a thought,

For me personally,

Whenever I'm thinking a thought and I'm really scared of it,

I'm scared that something bad is going to happen.

And I feel that anxiety.

That's how I know,

Okay,

This is not for me.

This is not going to happen.

This is not my intuition speaking.

But whenever I hear something,

You know,

In my mind,

Whenever I think a thought and I feel peace,

I feel stillness and softening and an inner glow,

That's how I know I need to go towards this.

Even if it's something scary,

Even if it's something that is going to shake up my reality,

Shake up my world,

And it might burn bridges or close doors.

For example,

I was in grad school and I felt the decision to or the idea to leave school and I felt the softening,

This almost like a sense of relief.

And that would be closing a door,

It would be kind of burning a bridge to drop out.

And that was a decision that I decided to make.

It was an unconventional one.

But I had all these preconceived ideas.

This is what other people think of my decision.

Other people think I'm being reckless.

Other people think I'm being irresponsible.

When nobody actually thought that,

Because people think about us way less than we think they do.

Think they do.

Nobody is actively thinking about other people's choices and other people's decisions,

What other people are wearing,

What they're saying,

What they're doing.

We have feelings towards other people.

And if we vibe with somebody,

We are going to have feelings like,

You know,

I really love their energy and I want the best for them.

They're going to do great things.

Or if we don't vibe with someone,

We're going to be like,

Okay,

I don't think they're living in alignment with their truth.

I think they're kind of treating other people poorly because they're treating themselves poorly.

So I'm going to stay away from them.

Right?

So we have those feelings.

We can still pick up on vibes from people,

But we are not thinking about other people's choices.

So I need you to get that out of your head that other people care about what you are doing and that you're doing things for other people because nobody cares.

Not to sound harsh,

But nobody cares.

Everybody loves,

Everybody loves you.

Everybody cares about you,

But nobody cares what decisions and choices you're making.

So you might as well live for yourself and nobody else.

And I truly believe that the most selfless thing that we can do is fill our own cup to do what we truly want.

And I've talked about this a lot with my close friends and family.

I haven't talked about it here on Insight Timer,

I don't think,

Maybe in a live stream in the past,

But there's this thing that I like to call it either like the ripple effect or the radiant effect.

So whenever we are working on ourselves,

We're filling our own cup first.

We are,

Whenever we are filling our own cup first,

That is the most selfless thing we can do because we are kind of like putting a drop in the ocean,

Dropping a pebble in the ocean.

And that's our energy.

We're putting something out into the universe and then it ripples.

It spreads to the next person.

How I treat myself is going to affect how I move,

How I glow,

How I act,

How I speak,

How I be.

And that's going to influence my interactions with other people,

Right?

So that is going to positively influence somebody else's life.

And if somebody treats you well,

You are going to feel good.

And then you are,

If you're feeling good,

You're going to treat other people well.

And the cycle just continues and continues and continues.

And you know,

Whatever you put out into the universe always comes back to you.

So I don't know,

I just think that's like important to kind of think about what energy are you wanting to call into your life and put that out into the universe,

You know?

So we need to act on our soul's calling.

I'm like totally going off on tangents right now.

I'm so sorry.

So I think that's the key to consistent up-leveling is consistently listening to our soul's inner voice and acting on it.

So that would look like,

Okay,

For me,

For example,

I received the download that I needed to start a podcast almost two years ago.

Hence the reason why I said this project has been in the making for nearly two years,

2021,

Is whenever that fire was lit inside of me and I felt the motivation,

I felt the glow in my heart,

I felt the fire in my solar plexus,

I knew this was something I had to do.

And did I ever do it?

Not until now.

And it's something that's been eating away at me ever since I had that thought or that download.

This is something I have to do.

This is something I have to pursue.

Why am I not pursuing this yet?

That is just so crazy.

But because of insecurity and feeling self-conscious and lacking confidence,

Having low self-esteem,

Worrying about what other people think about me,

Because if I tell people I want to have a podcast,

That's cringe.

Other people are embarrassed for me.

I should be embarrassed,

Right?

No,

You just have to live for yourself.

So after almost two years,

I'm finally stepping into my truth and sharing my story.

And that's kind of,

I wanted to share like my intentions for this podcast a little bit too.

Like I am not here to teach anybody anything.

I'm not,

I'm definitely not here to preach.

I'm not here to preach.

I'm simply here to live my own life and then share those experiences with you guys.

My favorite thing to do for my entire life,

And this is kind of going back to that sense of alignment,

Right?

So my favorite thing my entire life has always been talking.

I have always loved communicating with other people,

With myself.

So this has started since I was so young.

I started writing when I was about 12 years old and I've been writing ever since.

And I've kept a journal consistently since I was 16 years old.

Pretty much every single day since I was 16 years old,

I have spent at least an hour a day writing,

Like journaling to myself.

In the car,

I talk to myself.

In the shower,

I talk to myself.

My favorite thing to do is have meaningful conversations about life with other people.

I even got a degree in communication because I knew how passionate I was about it.

And that's just an example of how we can look back to our childhood,

Look back to the things that we are naturally good at,

Look back to the things that naturally light us up and see that we are not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not just a person who is not
