This practice will be a mindfulness practice,
A unity with ancestors practice,
And a unity with self-practice.
Begin by coming into the most comfortable seated pose,
Or let it be a relaxation pose.
Place one hand inside the other.
Begin to watch your chest moving up and down,
Noticing the chest.
Let your attention ride the wave of the breath,
Letting your awareness watch the chest move up and down.
Find a harmony with the breath as it is,
And stay in your rhythm.
Stay in your harmony for a couple minutes.
Reconnecting to your breath.
Reconnecting to your breath with gentleness,
With openness.
Bring awareness to the body,
And let the body release inside and out.
Release the forehead,
And the jaw,
And the chest.
Imagine releasing the shoulder blades,
Releasing the collarbones.
Release any tension in the throat,
And release the back.
Feel that your body is fluid,
And your body is flexible,
And your body has all the strength it needs.
It has taken you through every moment you've been through.
Let the body rest easily.
Let the stomach relax.
Let the legs release.
Notice that your body has a strong center.
Feel your sense of center.
Feel that inner unity,
And the sense of deep ease in this moment,
Because you are who you are,
And you know yourself.
No matter what happens,
No matter what you choose,
No matter where on the globe you are,
You know what you want to feel.
You know deep down how you want to contribute,
And what your values are.
You know when your words and actions resonate,
And you know how to take care of yourself.
And no matter what happens,
Rest in this knowing that you have thousands of generations of ancestors behind you.
Ancestors who withstood any crisis.
You have the strength of all your ancestors behind you,
Who lived and loved and built and wanted the best for the future generation,
Including you.
In your body,
You have the memory of all those talents and skills that you can tap into.
By finding unity with your body,
You unite with all your ancestors.
By taking care of your body,
You give respect to all your ancestors.
When you unite with your body,
You unite with them.
And as you serve your body,
You are serving all your ancestors.
Feel one hand inside the other,
Knowing that the strength of generations is in those hands.
And acknowledge that you are strong enough for everything this year holds.
You are strong enough for every challenge.
And in any situation,
Your inner peace,
Your inner unity is there for you.
Rest in this knowing,
Knowing that you can trust yourself to meet any day and any challenge with inner strength and inner calm.
And you have everything you need to enjoy and grow and thrive.
All you need to do is pay attention to what you enjoy and what feels resonant to you.
Setting the intention to connect with yourself and to be a grateful,
Loving presence to what is around you.
