Welcome to today's meditation,
Where I'll invite us to drop our breath and be right here with all that's happening around us in a mindful,
Present way.
If it's available to you,
I invite you to go outside,
Be in nature,
And see how that shifts what you can put your attention on.
When you're in a space that works for you today,
I invite you to find a comfortable position for your body and simply drop the breath.
We're not controlling or manipulating the breath,
We're just allowing for the mouth to stay open and for the breath to simply fall away.
See how that feels for you today,
If you want.
You can close the mouth and breathe in and out of the nose if that works better.
Just trust yourself.
And as you breathe out,
Maybe you can find a little bit more relaxation in the body,
Making space for all the sounds that are present,
Including everything that's vibrating around us as a part of the moment.
Taking this morning to simply tune into vibration,
Sensation,
Movement inside the body and outside the head,
Bringing our worlds together and being with all of it,
With a kindness and a gentleness,
An awareness.
Perhaps you can bring your awareness to the way that the wind touches your skin,
Or the way your body feels resting on the earth,
Where your hands are touching your body,
Any sensations in your fingers and toes,
And allowing for your awareness to bounce around wherever is happening here.
Maybe there's a taste that lingers on your lips,
Or a smell that can become an anchor that's present now.
Making room,
Practicing life as it is,
Being with it,
There's nothing to change,
Nowhere to go in this moment,
We're just watching with kindness,
All that arises.
Perhaps taking a moment and checking in with your body position,
And see if you can be a little more alert,
Upright,
Sturdy,
And a little bit softer,
More relaxed,
Finding this place of comfort and discipline,
Letting the breath go,
And maybe you try to bring a slight curve upward to the sides of your eyes,
Creating an almond shape with your eyes,
Reaching your eyes towards your temples,
Smiling from the inside,
That we have been gifted another day,
On this beautiful wild planet,
We are gifted these bodies,
And these souls,
And these minds,
And this spirit,
And this natural world,
May we be grateful,
And really feel it,
By smiling with our eyes,
Looking at ourselves with kindness and love,
So that we may see each other in this way,
Even the stranger on the street.
Take a few more slow,
Calm,
Present breaths,
This breath that keeps us alive,
Remembering to breathe,
Not take it for granted that we have this breath.
If you feel called,
You can bow your chin to your chest,
Or bring your hands to prayer at your heart,
Just thanking yourself for practicing today,
Knowing that this practice ripples out to all beings everywhere.
Thank you.
