Hi my friend.
Welcome to this moment.
This is for when we feel overwhelmed by a situation or overwhelmed by our inner voice,
Our inner dialogue.
This is for when we are faced with adversity or challenge or maybe when our inner critic is really loud.
This will help you soften into the experience.
Slowly close your eyes if that feels safe to you.
Give yourself the time you need to slow down,
To sink in.
Slowly follow your breath in.
Follow your breath out.
Allow ease to wash over you.
Softening your entire face.
Feel your neck,
Your shoulders relax down.
Feel every cell in your body start to settle.
Breathe in.
Breathe it out.
Notice what is swirling within you.
Notice what has been knocking you off your feet.
Maybe notice the unsteady energy within you or around you.
Breathe in.
Let it go.
While everything is swirling,
You my friend can still hold center.
You can remain steady,
Rooted.
Can you feel how your breath can slow down the speed of your mind?
Can you feel the warmth of the storm within you?
Inhale.
Exhale.
Matt Haig writes,
You don't have to be positive.
You don't have to feel guilty about fear or sadness or anger.
You don't stop the rain by telling it to stop.
Sometimes you just have to let it pour,
Let it soak you to your skin.
It never rains forever.
And you know that however wet you get,
You are not the rain.
You are not the bad feelings in your head.
You are the person experiencing the storm.
And the storm may knock you off your feet,
But you will stand again.
Hold on.
You are not the storm.
You are the person experiencing the storm.
Breathe in.
Let it go.
You are not your thoughts.
You are the thinker.
You are not your feelings.
You are the feeler.
You are not all that is swirling within you and around you.
You are the human experiencing it all.
Feel how this space between you and what is can create a little bit of ease,
A little bit of relief.
Slow inhale.
Slow exhale.
Notice how you feel now.
Maybe nothing has changed,
And yet you feel a little bit more steady.
Inhale slow.
Exhale slower.
Bring awareness to your feet,
Your toes,
Your toes,
Your toes,
Your toes,
Your toes.
And your legs rooted,
Connected to whatever is holding you.
Feel the strength and the support in your spine.
Feel your heart lift.
Feel your shoulders drop.
Feel ease in your face.
Feel freedom in your mind.
May you go forward knowing that the only way out is through.
And no matter how many times you fall,
You always rise.
It never rains forever.
Breathe in slow.
Let it go.
From my heart to yours.
