Hi my friend.
Begin to slowly arrive here.
See if you can just let yourself be exactly as you are.
Letting go of how you think you should be or how you should feel.
Just let yourself be human.
Just let yourself be real.
Just let yourself be alive to your life.
Give yourself a deep breath in through your nose.
Big exhale out your mouth.
It is a gift to give ourselves deep breaths.
Slowing down a breath.
Inhale deeply and release it.
How does it feel to inhale?
How does it feel to exhale?
What is it that you can breathe in?
And what is it that you can breathe out?
Let your breath begin to heal that part of you that might need some loving attention.
Breathing in this compassion and letting go any judgment.
Breathing in a warm acceptance.
Exhaling any anxiety.
Breathing in a calm,
Peaceful state.
Exhaling any urgency or fear.
Continuing to simply breathe in and out.
Putting intention behind what you are pulling into your awareness with the inhale and what you are releasing on your exhale.
My friend,
Every breath you take is proof you are making it.
You are making it through your difficult moments.
You are making it through any change or transition in your life.
Every breath you take,
Especially the exhale,
Is proof that there is so much behind you and you are moving forward.
You are healing.
You are growing.
You are heading toward the light,
The joy.
Let your breath be proof that you have permission to be.
Notice how the breath has been simple.
Just an inhale and an exhale.
And even that shifts something within you.
As you continue to breathe,
Let your breath be a reminder that you are free to be.
Nicola Jane Hobbs writes,
Let yourself be tired.
Let yourself be lazy.
Let yourself be all the things you were quietly taught not to be.
Let yourself be messy.
Let yourself be imperfect.
Let yourself be emotional.
Let yourself be all the things society conditioned you not to be.
Let yourself be slow.
Let yourself be idle.
Let yourself be inefficient.
Let yourself be all the things productivity culture said you should not be.
Let yourself be nourished.
Let yourself be full.
Let yourself be unashamed.
Let yourself be all the things diet culture told you not to be.
Let yourself be triggered.
Let yourself be dysregulated.
Let yourself be inconsistent.
Let yourself be all the things the wellness industry said you should not be.
Let yourself be angry.
Let yourself be unapologetic.
Let yourself be relaxed.
Let yourself be all the things society said you should not be.
Let yourself be deeply exhausted and deeply alive.
Let yourself be heartbroken for the world and still in love with its beauty.
Let yourself ache for the fragility of this life and feel held softly by the wonder of being alive.
This is what it means to be human.
To breathe and to be here.
You are human.
Let your breath heal you.
Support you as you experience this life to its fullest.
Letting yourself be full permission.
Notice how it feels to breathe in your body now.
If it feels right,
Placing a hand or two over your heart.
Feel your heartbeat.
Thanking your body.
Thanking your lungs.
Thanking this inhale and this exhale.
Keep giving yourself deep breaths throughout the rest of your day and let it remind you you are free to be.
Let yourself go really slowly now.
Bringing awareness to where your feet are meeting the ground.
Notice where your back body has landed.
Allowing your hands to rest back in your lap.
Maybe finding some movement.
Gently rolling the wrists.
Expanding the hands.
Gently rocking the head side to side if that would serve you.
One more breath.
Gently opening your eyes if they were closed.
Take this healing breath into your day.
From my heart to yours.
