Welcome to Elevate.
I'm Nina Englander.
Thanks for joining me.
Elevate is a process that focuses on the energy centers in the body in order to move into a place of greater peace and awareness no matter what's going on in your life or in the world around you.
Elevate can be used daily as a short and sweet mindfulness exercise or it can be used more intentionally to help you move toward a goal or manifest something in your life that you feel might bring you more happiness and contentment.
Today we're going to focus on the seventh chakra,
Also called the crown chakra.
It's the energy center at the very top of your head.
The crown chakra is our connection with the divine or source energy or God,
Whatever your preference.
Orienting yourself to the crown chakra can help you tap into your spiritual self.
Opening the crown chakra can help you feel more unity with the world.
It can help you to remember there's more to life than meets the eye.
It can help you connect with magic that's easy to miss in our lives because we're so often distracted.
When the crown chakra is blocked,
It's harder to connect with your higher self and your higher power.
So let's begin.
Find a comfortable seated position with your back upright.
You can be fully relaxed.
And if you're comfortable doing so,
Close your eyes.
As you settle in,
Just notice any sounds around you.
Not to judge,
But just to notice.
Now begin to tune in to your breath in its natural rhythm.
Notice the breath coming in.
How it feels cool in the nose.
And notice the breath going out.
How the air coming out feels warm in the nose.
And let's do this for a moment.
Maybe making those breaths a little bit deeper now.
Going at your own pace.
Focus on the air coming in on the in-breath.
Cool.
Focus on the air going out on the out-breath.
Warm.
Continuing with this easy breath pattern,
Bring your awareness of the breath to the chest and abdomen.
Feel the air coming in and filling the lungs.
And then as the air comes out,
Notice how the lungs soften and relax.
The breath is our anchor throughout this session.
When you notice that you're starting to drift off,
Or starting to plan your shopping list,
Or having any kind of distracting thoughts,
And you will,
Acknowledge them,
Give them a little polite nod,
And then turn back to the breath.
Now,
Bring your awareness to the inside of your body.
Start by focusing attention on the space at the very top of your head.
This is your seventh chakra,
Your crown chakra.
And while you continue to breathe with your regular pattern,
Imagine a ball of energy or light forming at the crown.
Imagine that light circling in a ball,
Spinning,
And getting larger.
Can you feel a vibration of energy there?
It might feel like a pleasant buzz,
Or warmth,
Or tingle.
This is a skill that doesn't necessarily come naturally to everyone,
But does get easier with practice.
So if you aren't feeling it right away,
That's okay.
You can start by visualizing some light at the apex of the top of your head.
Sit with the sensation of something stirring at the top of the head,
And feeling the warmth and the vibration there.
The color that represents the crown chakra is violet,
So you can try picturing a deep purple light right at the crown.
Enjoy this feeling,
And continue to breathe slowly and deeply.
Again,
If you notice that you're drifting,
Or you're starting to have thoughts,
Just simply notice them,
And you can acknowledge,
Oh,
There are my thoughts again,
And then gently move back to the breath in the crown.
It often helps to use images from nature as an anchor for this practice.
Imagine something from the cosmos,
Or something that represents divine nature to you,
Like a sunset,
Or a shooting star,
Or the way sun rays cut through clouds on a gray day and transform the sky.
One technique I use a lot is to imagine a line of light that emerges from the crown and goes up through the clouds all the way to the heavens,
Hooking me fully into the divine energy.
This is an especially helpful tool when I'm feeling heavy or troubled.
Whichever image is the most accessible to you today,
Continue to breathe as you connect with that image.
As you imagine this place of divinity and connection and feel it in your body,
Begin to give gratitude to your guides or helpers,
Your sources of power,
And to yourself.
Keep breathing here in this connected place for as long as you like.
You can always pause the recording if you want more time.
As we bring this practice to a close and you begin to come back to the present,
Start to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take a little stretch where you need one.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Thank you so much for elevating with me today.
I hope you carry this divine connection with you into your day or your night.
And I leave you with a Cosmic Sunlight Shooting Star Metta Prayer.
May you walk through life with the help of others that came before you.
May you feel the love from your source with every step.
