"Choose Love" is a guided meditation designed to help you learn to respond with love, instead of reacting in fear or judgment when you feel triggered. By teaching yourself how to remain calm, grounded, and centered in times of triggering, you begin to transcend the tendency to react and make decisions from those triggered states. Instead, you become aware of when, where, how, and why you feel triggered and you become calmer, at peace, and in a state of equanimity and joy.

What to do when you get triggered guided meditation.

This meditation was recorded live during our workshop What to do when you get triggered.

You can use this meditation to begin to understand the process of triggering and over time become less and less triggered.

If you enjoy our guided meditations you may also like to join us in our live workshops.

So let's begin.

If you would find a comfortable place to sit or lay down,

Close your eyes and begin to gently breathe in a very relaxing way.

Begin to relax every muscle in your body.

Feeling that relaxation all the way into your bones.

Scanning your body for any tension,

Finding any tension and relaxing it consciously.

Letting all your muscles go nice and soft.

Muscles of your face and jaw.

Muscles of your neck and shoulders.

Some people seem to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Allow yourself to take this weight off.

Just put it down.

Leave it behind.

And continue relaxing your entire body.

Your arms,

Your hands,

Fingers.

Your back,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

Your legs,

Your feet and your toes.

So that you're feeling so nice and relaxed.

Now in this relaxed state with your heart open,

Feeling very still,

Quiet.

Allow yourself to bring up a trigger.

A situation,

A relationship dynamic,

A circumstance that essentially bring about a state of triggering.

Whether that be frustration,

Anger,

Sadness,

Rage,

Feeling of being victimized or disempowered.

Let yourself bring the memories associated with such triggers.

Actually allowing yourself to even be triggered.

To notice that you can actually trigger yourself.

Allowing yourself to feel triggered.

So you can experiment with this.

So you can study this.

So you can transcend this.

As you bring up the trigger and the energy and the emotions associated with the triggering.

In that moment,

Recognizing that whatever you feel,

As real as it feels,

Is not actually true.

That your perspectives,

That your interpretations,

That your projections in that moment are coming from your own mind.

And as you let this sink in,

Choose in this moment to let go of the emotional charge associated with the triggering.

Realizing that you're letting go of past pain in you.

That it wasn't being caused by anyone or anything.

Simply past pain that is being triggered in you by external events.

Recognizing that this past pain is coming up for you to heal it and release it.

Realizing that this is an opportunity,

A gift.

And so embrace this opportunity to become aware of your pain.

To learn to understand it.

To accept it.

To love it.

So that it can clear.

And as you explore within the space of your body,

Of your mind,

Where the pain is located,

How it feels.

Realizing yourself maybe for the first time to truly feel this pain.

Without blame,

Without judgment,

Without the energy of attempting to control it.

Remind yourself to feel what you feel.

Allowing yourself to become aware as you feel what you feel without trying to escape it or distract away from it.

Of what's truly at the root of the trigger.

Is it a fear?

Is it a belief?

Is it an expectation that is not being met?

Are you dissatisfied or judging?

Of yourself,

Of someone,

Of a situation?

What is this trigger?

What is it made up of?

What is it that you are trying to write?

Allowing yourself to fully see your projections.

And the fear.

Allowing yourself to fully see what you are fearing is happening.

Allowing yourself to accept that as fear.

Allowing yourself to get in touch with any part of you that feels that something needs to happen.

Allowing yourself to recognize that as just fear.

And getting in touch in your heart.

What you are really uncovering through this experience.

What this experience is bringing you.

What this is allowing you to face.

That you've been avoiding or suppressing.

Letting yourself feel that.

And process that.

Whatever that is for you.

And as you open your heart to the trigger.

To the lesson.

As you let yourself feel the energy of it.

As you let yourself be with it.

Feel it.

On a very different space.

From a very different perspective.

From this space of wholeness and oneness.

And of unconditional love.

Let yourself see and feel how things could be different.

Letting yourself feel,

非常 Great.

And that.

Great.

How you could respond.

What you could say.

How you would feel.

How you could respond.

As you respond consciously to something that was triggering in the past.

How you could respond.

And yourself experience it fully.

Resonating within the space of your heart.

With what you do want to feel and experience.

Seeing it,

Feeling it.

How you could respond.

Experiencing all aspects of it in this present moment.

In time.

By choice.

How you could respond.

And allowing yourself to re-center in your intentions.

And to really feel why those are your deepest intentions.

How you could respond.

And consciously choosing to return to your life.

In alignment with these intentions that are in your heart.

So that you can feel good about consciously choosing to respond.

Rather than unconsciously reacting from your triggered emotions.

And feeling the benefit in your heart of following this path.

The path of your deepest intentions.

And of healing and clearing whatever comes up when you get triggered.

So that you may stay on that path.

And allowing yourself to feel and celebrate the wonderful things that you are and will experience on this path.

Of consciousness,

Of focus,

Of intention.

From your heart and soul.

And connected in this way to your intention.

To the light of your soul.

Coming back to the present moment.

To a new time,

To a new space,

To a new you.

Transformed through this process.

Allowing for the light of your soul to shine through onto this moment and onto every moment.

Intending to look at yourself,

At others,

At relationships,

At life,

At the world.

Through this life.

And choosing,

In any moment,

Of triggering to ask yourself this question.

What would love do?

And exploring this in your heart.

Choosing.

To think,

To feel,

To speak,

To act out of this love.

And with this love in your heart,

In your mind,

In your body,

In your soul.

Open your eyes.

And bring this love into everything that you look at.

And that you interact with in the world.

Thank you.
