You know this feeling,
The mind that won't quiet,
The body that won't settle,
The low hum of something you can't quite name.
Running away from everything,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Hiding.
You are not broken,
This is simply anxiety,
An emotion,
A sensation that flows,
That changes and transforms.
It has come to you today not as an enemy but as a messenger that has simply forgotten how to leave,
Like an unwanted guest.
Let's help it find the door.
Arrive into the body first,
Feel the feet,
The ground beneath them,
Press them down gently,
Feel the earth push back,
Observe the stability,
The sturdiness,
You are here,
You are physical,
You are real.
Whatever the mind is spinning,
The ground is steady,
You are safer and steadier than you think,
The mind is only playing tricks on you.
Take a breath in through your nose and release it all out,
Letting energy flow throughout the body as breaking away stagnation from the mind and allowing things to move,
Breaking away resistance.
Let's take another breath,
Conscious and alive,
Inhale for 1,
2,
3,
Hold it at the top and with sound you exhale,
Let it all out.
Allow the exhale from each breath to take a little longer than the inhale.
A simple trick of your biology to induce and invite calmness.
Let's do that again with an inhale,

Hold it and let it out,

4.
And continue with your natural flow of breath,
Allow it to simply be.
Now place one hand on your chest,
Feel the heartbeat,
The internal rhythm of life,
Notice it is not racing because something is wrong,
It is racing because it is alive,
Because you are alive and that heart has never once,
Not once,
Abandoned you,
Talk to it,
Communicate with it,
Let it know that it's okay,
We are okay,
We are safe right now,
It's okay to feel anxious and we trust that it's a temporary emotion and it will flow and change into something that feels calmer,
Safer,
Peaceful.
And now scan the body and try to trace where anxiety lives right now,
Do you feel it in the chest,
The throat,
The stomach,
Find it,
Don't fight it,
Just place your awareness like a laser beam onto it and watch it,
Observe it,
I see you,
You don't have to work so hard right now,
I've got this,
I give you permission to leave,
I show you the way to exit through breath,
I release you,
Inhale all the energy in,
Gather all the anxiety in one place like a ball of fire and with the exhale,
Let it all go,
Let it wash away,
One more time,
Inhale,
Gather it in,
Any residues,
Anything that's left,
Exhale,
Let it all go,
Breathe into that place,
Let the breath soften it,
Not erase it,
Just loosen its grip slightly,
That is enough,
You don't need to solve anything right now,
You don't need to figure out anything,
The only job you have in this moment is to breathe,
That is the vehicle that allows and reminds the nervous system that it is okay to calm down and return to calmness,
Take one last long breath in,
Hold and release slowly,
Fully with presence,
Feel the ground beneath you,
Give some time for the body to return,
To wake up,
Feel the body,
Your fingers,
The toes,
Feel the breath as it rises and falls in your chest,
In your belly,
Anxiety may still be in the room,
But you are no longer at its mercy,
You came back to yourself and that took courage,
Besides,
The door is now open,
Anxiety is welcome to stay or to leave,
For you are safe,
You are protected and it no longer controls you,
