There is a moment,
Just before the day begins,
When everything is still possible,
When the light is new and the mind is clean and the world has not yet asked anything of you.
You are in that moment now,
And the day belongs to you.
There is a quote by Terence McKenna that says,
We are like caterpillars contemplating pupation.
No longer will I chew on cabbage leaves,
No longer will I spend my time moving around on the underside of the foliage.
Life must be a preparation for the transition to another dimension.
So here we are today,
Letting go of our cocoon,
Letting go of our caterpillar stage,
Growing,
Evolving,
Transforming.
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
As bringing yourself to the present moment,
Filling up the lungs with fresh air,
Starting out your day.
Feel the lungs expand,
Your chest rise,
The body awake.
Breathe it out,
Long and complete.
Let's take one breath in again,
Inhale it in through the nose,
Filling up the lungs,
Filling up the belly,
And let it all out,
Releasing the last traces of sleep,
The last remnants of yesterday.
You are here,
You are now,
You are beginning.
And feel the weight of your body grounded,
Present.
Your feet are on the floor,
Or your back is against the bed.
Wherever you are,
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.
The sounds around you,
The city,
Town,
Waking up along with you.
Sounds that are near,
Sounds that are distant and far.
This is the world welcoming you back into this good morning.
Now place one hand on your heart,
Feel the beat,
Feel its rhythm,
Connect to it.
Say good morning to it,
Welcome to this bright new day.
This heart has carried you through and every yesterday you thought might break you.
Every morning you weren't sure you could face,
And here you are,
Facing another one.
That is not small,
That is everything.
Trusting this bright new beginning,
This new day,
This new opportunity.
And as you breathe in now,
Breathe in possibility.
Not the pressure of what must be done,
But the quiet miracle of what could be.
Today holds moments you cannot yet imagine.
Small kindnesses,
Unexpected beauty,
Something that makes you laugh and feel joy in your heart.
Something that reminds you why you are here.
Allow yourself to be open to the possibilities.
Take a breath in,
And as you inhale,
Silently say to yourself,
I am ready.
And as you exhale,
I am enough.
Again,
Breathe it in,
I am ready.
Let it out,
I am enough.
One more time at your own pace,
I am ready on the in,
I am enough on the out.
Now let us set one intention for today.
Not a task,
Not a goal,
Not something to achieve,
But a quality you want to carry with you on this day.
May that be patience,
Presence,
Openness,
Kindness towards yourself,
Towards others,
Towards the day.
Because each day is different.
This might be a challenging day,
But if you carry the quality of patience within you,
It will make it a little bit easier and smoother.
Whatever arises,
Let it be yours.
Hold it gently like a small flame you are protecting from the wind.
Hold that quality,
Feel it,
Visualize it.
And take one final deep breath in.
Feel the energy moving through you,
Waking up each and every cell in the body.
The quiet aliveness of a body ready to meet the day.
And breathe out with gratitude for this morning,
This breath,
This life.
That is undeniably beautifully,
That is undeniably beautifully yours.
Go gently and go well.
And always remember,
One day or day one,
The choice is yours.
Have a beautiful day.
Namaste.
