Today we're going to explore what it truly means to let go.
Letting go often feels daunting,
As if we're giving up on something important.
But in reality,
Letting go is about releasing resistance,
Not abandoning your dreams or your desires.
Resistance arrives when we're overly attached to specific outcomes.
We may feel entitled to a return on the energy that we've invested,
And when things don't work out,
We cling even tighter.
Ironically,
This attachment blocks us from receiving what we truly want.
Letting go means stepping back into balance,
Reconnecting with yourself and allowing things to flow naturally.
When we're centered,
We can hear the whispers of inspired action,
The intuitive nudges that guide us towards our goals without the struggle.
Today,
We'll take the first step by exploring and releasing resistance through a guided meditation.
So find a comfortable,
Quiet space,
And either sit or lie down.
And if you're sitting,
Place your hands on your lap,
Palms up.
And if you're lying on the floor,
Just place your hands or your arms beside you with your palms facing upward.
Palms facing upward is a signal to your higher self that you are ready to receive whatever it is that you need to receive today to help you to let go.
And just move your body around a little bit and just find the most comfortable position for you.
Take a deep breath in and out.
And just feel your shoulders dropping down and your jaw relaxing.
And take another deep breath in and as you breathe out,
Just feel yourself just letting go of any tension or tightness.
Just feeling it melt away.
And take another deep breath in and just imagine that you're drawing your awareness within.
And as you breathe out,
Just feel yourself sinking into whatever you are lying or sitting upon,
Allowing your body to relax even more,
Feeling a beautiful sense of calm and harmony.
And imagine now that the room or the space around you is beginning to fill with a beautiful golden light.
It's like the rays of the sun flowing into the space.
This is the light of your higher self,
Your soul.
It's also filled with the universal life force,
The energy of the creative heart at the centre of our universe.
And it is calming and loving and healing.
And as this beautiful golden light flows into the space around you,
It's creating a safe and loving space.
It's swirling around you like a mist and you begin to feel wave after wave of this beautiful golden harmony.
This loving light flow over you and you feel even more relaxed,
Even more calm.
And in this beautiful space,
Bring to your mind something that you've been holding on to,
Something that you have found difficult to let go of.
Maybe it is a situation,
An expectation,
A person or a place,
Whatever it is,
Bring it to your mind.
And now picture yourself holding a heavy rope in your hands.
This is a representation of whatever it is that you're having trouble letting go of.
Feel the weight of the rope in your hands and notice how tightly you're gripping it.
It's like you're holding onto this rope for dear life,
Fearful to let go of it because you're not quite sure what will happen.
But in this beautiful space of allowing and calm,
We're going to let go of this rope so that you can begin to practice the feeling of just gently letting go and know how safe that you are.
So again,
Notice how tightly you're gripping the rope.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out and just imagine that the rope becomes a little bit lighter.
It's not feeling as heavy.
And take another deep breath in and as you breathe out,
You begin to feel your hands not gripping the rope so tightly,
Just beginning to loosen your grip.
Take another deep breath in and as you breathe out now,
Imagine that this rope has become so light so that the rope is now slowly slipping through your fingers and you're releasing it just bit by bit.
Take another deep breath in and as you breathe out,
You just feel the tension leaving your body as this rope just gently,
Gently begins to float away.
You see yourself standing tall and free,
No longer weighed down by this rope.
Breathe in this new found lightness and as you breathe out,
Just feel that amazing sense of freedom and silently say to yourself,
I release resistance.
I trust in the flow of life.
I return to my center.
Call all your energies back to this moment,
To this place.
Be fully present right here,
Right now in the magnificence of you and when you feel ready,
Just gently open your eyes and smile.
You have just created a sense of ease in your life.
