Welcome. This short and simple meditation is for any parent wanting a gentle voice to offer their child (or children) to help them prepare for bedtime on their own. This recording is intended to benefit children of all ages by giving them a purposeful step-by-step path to associating sleep with happiness, gratitude and relaxation. Welcome.

Tomorrow is a new day and it's time to slow down and prepare for bed so tomorrow can begin again.

Remember you can pause this meditation whenever you like.

Take a big breath in and out.

Let's make sure you're ready for bed so that you feel prepared to sleep.

Please change into your pajamas and use the bathroom so that you feel comfortable throughout the night.

Please brush and floss your teeth so your mouth feels fresh and clean.

Crawl into bed slowly.

Lay your head down on your pillow.

Close your eyes.

Take a big breath in and out.

In your imagination,

Remember a happy time when you were with your friends and your family.

Maybe it was during one of your birthday parties or a family vacation or a time when you were playing with your friends during summer break.

Whatever it is,

Form a clear picture in your mind so that you fall asleep feeling happy.

Take another big breath in and out.

Finally,

It's time to relax and say our thank yous to remind us to appreciate life and remind us how lucky we are.

Are you ready?

Take a slow big breath in and out.

Very quietly,

Please repeat after me.

Thank you for my home that gives me a place to live.

Thank you for the food that I eat that feeds me.

Thank you for my friends and family and my teachers who care for me.

Thank you for my parents who love me.

Thank you for my life.

Take one last big breath in and out and let me leave you with these words.

It's a great day to be alive.
