Welcome.

Thank you for allowing me to participate with you in your journey to internalize the concept of keeping calm and carrying on.

Make yourself comfortable by sitting still or laying down.

Close your eyes.

Allow the muscles in your face,

Your neck,

And your shoulders to fall.

Help relax your body and mind by just listening to your breathing.

Breathe very deeply and very slowly.

Quiet your mind of any questions,

Of any responsibilities,

Of any thoughts and desires by just breathing deeply,

By staying relaxed and still.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Let's begin.

During the Second World War,

Among many other things,

There was uncertainty.

The Allies didn't know when the war would end.

They only knew that the world had to adapt quickly to get through the spread of rampant uncertainty.

During this time,

Basic resources were scarce.

Stock market swings were common and morale was what the people decided it to be.

The British coined the phrase,

Keep calm and carry on.

To serve as a reminder to be patient and confident during times of worldwide uncertainty.

The result was an entire nation of galvanized people that believed their ordeal must eventually pass so life can go on.

And after years of adaptation,

It did.

Take a very slow,

Deep breath in and out.

Right now,

In March of 2020,

And for any other similar future time period,

The world is again facing another challenge calling to us,

Testing us,

Forcing us to adapt and make changes quickly that affect our health and our safety,

As well as the well-being of others.

And like the brave generation of World War II,

This is just another page in our history.

A history of humankind that future generations will remember us by how we handled this pandemic.

During this time of uncertainty,

You must remember to keep calm and carry on because this too shall pass.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Please allow me to speak directly and most genuinely to the best version of yourself.

You are respectful.

You are tolerant and mindful of others.

You protect yourself and you take this pandemic very seriously.

But you will not let it consume you by acting solely out of fear.

You quietly allow others to see your inner strength in a subtle way that puts them at ease.

You smile,

You laugh,

You remain vigilant,

And you keep calm and carry on.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Remember that no matter what happens,

You continue to stay true to who you are.

The gratefulness you have for your life and also for the wonderful people in it will not change.

Think of these wonderful people that you know or used to know in your life and think of how they touched you.

Take one last deep breath in and out.

If ever the media or the opinions of others makes you uneasy,

Tell yourself to keep calm and carry on.

And remember,

You are not alone during this time of uncertainty because as you already know,

The whole world is doing the best that it can to move past this pandemic.

Please take a moment to appreciate and thank yourself for taking the time to listen to this meditation.

Take all of the time you need to just breathe and remember,

You can return to this meditation whenever you please.

Remember that the more you practice this meditation,

The faster and easier it will work for you.

Thank you for beginning your journey to internalize the concept of keeping calm and carrying on.

And when you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and let me leave you with these words.

It's a great day to be alive.

What a lovely practice for any day, nonetheless for those really hard times where finding a way to keep calm and carry on can seem like an impossibility. Great narration and soothing background music too.

I am so incredibly grateful for this meditation. Last night was an extremely rough night for me, with the news received here in California, and I think I let it get to me more than I needed to. This morning I have a new sense of calm and I thank your meditation for helping me. I am sending love and light to everyone and praying we all stay strong. ✌🏻❀️
